Default world of planes gamespot key give away for open beta

    http://worldofwarplanes.com/news/184...oday-gamespot/

just put this on my laptop...can't wait till i get home to put it on my gaming box...Lots of fun, but an irpad and a 3yr old crawling over you makes for bad dog fighting...

    Here's the specs:

    • Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7
    • Processor (CPU): 2.2 GHz
    • Memory(RAM): 2 GB
    • Videocard: GeForce 8600GT or ATI HD 2600 with 256 MB
    • Internet connection speed: 128 Kbps

    Runs fine on win7sp1 x64

I created my account first, then registered on gamespot to get my key. Worked like a champ. My 6 tier9 tanks in WOT are gonna collect a lot of dust!

WOT is such a mind numbing grind fest, esp if you have a life or other games to play. Hit t6 easy, but grinding to t7 is mind numbing. (I had T9 in beta) For some reason I have a week free of premium and its still slow.

Now if you want to sink money into it continualy then it's a bit better, but to me it isn't good enough to invest in it like an old school mmo. I really hate this trend of FTP games. (Other ones in particular) who try to bait you in with "free" games, but you are either extremely restricted or so slowed down that they force you into paying. That wouldn't be so bad, but the plan is usually so you end up paying far more than you would if you had simply bought a standard $60 game.

BTW there is also war thunder, which is kinda a WOT/WOP rip off. Seemed familiar when I started up then figured out it's a slightly recoded direct rip from that other companies terrible game Wings of Prey. They basically added some new planes, put them all into the grinding tech tree like WOT, then set you loose in MP games which also offer missions which comically are copies from the original game. (So I dont suggest it basically, also some issues w/ the russian devs making the russian planes far superior I read.)

Seems to be a trend, but I don't mind it so much. Have to find the good ones though. I don't mind paying for a few perks on the "free to play" games sometimes, especially because a lot of times it will only be a couple of bucks and I'm off to another game before I hit the free "wall". Costs less than the $60/game for others.

Best ones I have played/still play are Tera: http://tera.enmasse.com/ and Planetside 2: https://www.planetside2.com/

Large downloads (about 30gb each), but with Tera you can begin play with about 2gb down and it will complete while you play. Also, they are pretty graphics and cpu intensive, but the gameplay doesn't lag if your setup is decent.

I might give the warplanes game a shot, cant hurt.

WOT requires at least 2 premium tanks to farm credits, and I look at it as the cost of the game. I have the t59 and locust that i used to train up my crews. My e75 pwn3s all t9 and under. But after 8.1 came out they really nerfed a lot of the fun tanks. JadgTiger is a kick in the pants, but the good ol american hellcat is still one of my favorite tanks. Same handle here as in planes and tanks, add me if u want...i'm always on!

I need to try WOP again, I've been in the beta for months and found it was a horrible game. Now WOT, I'm still playing and love that I can play one game and know I'll be done in 15 minutes or less. It does suck that with a few of my tanks even a victory is likely to result in a loss of cash, my T95 is the main one for this, though the Object 261 is a close second. But my Lower makes credits hand over fist, so one or two battles and I can repair/rearm most of my other tanks.

Totally unrelated but reminded me. I have two Arma III Alpha invites on steam of anyone wants one.
