Making my new bow right now, will be done in a few more weeks. I'll post up pics when it's done.

I have been reading up on building bows. I plan on building my own recurve in the near future.

I'm not worried in this case. I have enough high capacity ammo magazine mass destruction weapons with shoulder things that go up and big box springs, that I can always shoot the guy carrying the bow and take it if I need it.

Lot's of work and not an easy project to undertake. Worth it in the end though.

Before I moved I swapped my fly tying supplies with a buddy for his arrow making gear, and I'd forgotten all about it until I saw that pic of Bo's arrow shop. I may have to go visit Bass Pro tomorrow and check out the bows.

I'd be curious to hear how the bow turns out. I've heard that Osage Orange wood makes good bows, and I know of a couple of very large, mature trees near my house. When I get home I may go check them out and see if there are any likely looking branches that need trimmed...

Bass pro for compounds, but I wouldn't go look at any traditional stuff there. Try going to Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear at on Sheridan at I-76. Best selection of all the Trad Gang gear. My 2 cents.

I have a Master Bowyer as my instructor. (Dad!) 50+ years making traditional recurves and longbows.

    My new takedown Longbow Hybrid:
    Riser: Lacewood with Osage.
Limbs: Birdseye Maple with Clear Glass. Osage Fadeout.

Might be able to get some photos tomorrow, still a bit of work to go yet before it's done.

I had a black widow recurve. I sold it to Bob's on Holly St back in '93, I wish I still had it.

At this point in time I have more bows than firearms in my house. I think I have this backwards!

Thanks for that, I haven't heard Bo Jackson in forever! At least he stayed cool after retiring, unlike some other athletes (*cough*OJ*cough*)...
Hey, I'd love to get into archery, and Darryl uses a crossbow, thus proving it's pretty damn effective for killin' zombies too!
