$1500 is the new reasonable.
You see a few used ones now and then for under $1K but they don't last long. You can still build one off a kit for under $1k. Down side with AK's especially the 5.45x39's are AMMO, AND MAGS, mags run an easy $30+ a pop, AMMO, GET ON LINE.

Yeah the ammo is easy to find but don't really understand the crazy prices? Never thought id see the day where an ak cost more then my ar15 lol

Unfortunately. It's crazy when I have seen used SAR and WASR variants going for more than brand new milled receiver ones did just a couple of years ago. I've never really priced the 5.45 models, but if you find either a 7.62 or 5.45 AK under 1k right now and you have the money for it you should probably grab it.
