If you look on Armslist or Gunbroker you will see guns like the PS90 which sell for a premium if the are a Gen 1/2 because people know the auto sear is included with them. To go full auto is a realitivly easy change. One would think this makes it illegal by ATF rules but that is not the case. If you make the simple mod it is illegal but 'stock' is just fine. Newer ones don't have the auto sear. My point is, just having the auto sear does not always make it illegal. If he had an M16 auto sear, ya, he's screwed.
