Acronyms?

I need to preface this thread with a humble apology to the repost police, because I'm sure there's a thread already on this topic. I'm usually pretty good at searching, but I just can't locate it.

Is there a thread on the various acronyms used when describing parts of firearms, for those of us that are trying to learn more than point-and-shoot?

(The one that I see often lately is BCG. I had no idea what that was (and actually still am not quite sure) until I googled...and then I got "bolt carrier group".
I'm still scratching my head a little, but baby steps are okay. I'm still learning the language.)

There probably is a thread already, but I'm too lazy to look for it. This issue was a nightmare for me too. Between time in the military and being in IT, there are so many acronyms that are the same and mean different things.

Jim is the worst offender at slinging inexplicable acronyms; I can't understand half the shit that guy says about anything.

BCG = you've got that one already, not to be confused with BGC = back ground check
FSB = front sight base
LPK = lower parts kit
BUIS = back up iron sights
HBAR = heavy barrel
BZO = battle sight zero
FDE = flat dark earth

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

MRDS/RDS = Mini Red Dot Sight/Red Dot Sight
FCG= Fire Control Group (normally see/hear this when people are talking about AK's and their trigger groups)
BDC = Bullet Drop Compensation

FTF = Face To Face (also Fail To Feed)
CoDL = CO Drivers License
KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid
CQB = Close Quarters Battle
CQC = Close Quarters Combat
MOA = Minute Of Angle
DD = Daniel Defense
SBR = Short Barreled Rifle
BGC = Back Ground Check
BoS = Bill of Sale


It would be easier if you just ask for the ones you don't know.
