    Default Apex sear

So, I dropped an Apex sear into my M&P compact today. Took it out of the package, polished the engagement surfaces with some 2000 grit paper, dropped it in, verified proper operation and engagement, and reassembled the pistol.

Not only did I get rid of a crappy, injection molded part but I got a much nicer trigger pull as well.

If you have an M&P I would highly recommend the Apex "hard sear".

The Apex striker block is an even bigger improvement. Try that next.

Thanks. I polished the factory piece. The take up is smooth and you don't even feel the trigger bar contacting the striker block or dragging across it. Well, other than the weight of it as it lifts the block against the spring. But you can't feel the trigger bar dragging on the striker block or anything.

The trigger breaks later now which reduces the over travel and the reset seems shorter. The sear releases the striker cleanly. It really is pretty decent for a striker fired handgun.

I'll have to get out and put some more rounds through it and see if I can do any better with it now that the trigger pull meets my expectations.

I installed an AEK kit and was impressed, but now i wish i had gone with the forward set sear & trigger kit from the get go.

The Apex Ultimate Striker block dropped 0.5 pounds off the trigger pull in several of my M&Ps. The RAM is also a significant improvement to the reset in older M&Ps, but is not necessary in the latest batch. My Shield and new 9c retained the improved factory reset after sear swaps.
