Default Why isn't Fort Hood shooting brough into to the gun control debate?

I was just reading about the .mil stance on awarding the Purple Heart to the victims of the Fort Hood Shootings. Why isn't this part of the gun debate ever brought up? I am not trying to be a smart ass here. I am asking for serious thoughts on this. Aurora, Sandy Hook and other are the forefront of the debate. Since this is not a front line battle, should this shooting be held in the same regards as other mass shootings in this country? Why is this terrible crime different just because it was on an Army base? What kind of can of worms would that open up?

Becuse it wasn't innocent civilians who were slaughtered. It was well trained military heroes who were dupes by a Muslim Taliban supporter who infiltrates the system and even gave mental health advice to our soldiers.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

Also, it was a disarmed society. It doesn't play into the libs agenda.

To bring the Ft. Hood shooting back into the limelight would require recognizing the shooter is a professed Muslim who committed his violent act of terrorism on U.S. soil and DHS was unable to do anything to stop it.

The American Muslim extremist is something our .gov continues to deny exists in this case or in the potentiality of any others. Muslims are peaceful people; remember?

To show that DHS, with it's over-reaching Patriot Act authority, etc. couldn't predict/stop this act of terrorism would be admitting their growing militarization is ineffective against true terrorists and people would start to wonder what their true purpose is.

    How's that for a tin-foil conspiracy theory.
