Kestrel 5.56

Hank Gregory at NC Silencer recommended the Huntertown Arms Kestrel 5.56 as a good low-cost alternative for a 5.56/22LR suppressor that can disassembled and cleaned (good idea when firing 22LeavesResidue). I think Tactical Supply off Havana is a dealer, and I've been toying with the notion of dropping in to ask, but I wanted to know if anyone here had an opinion[1]. It's kinda heavy, but I'm probably going to be supporting that end with something other than my hand so it's not all bad. This would be my first (civilian, 21st century) can, so I'm trying to do a bit of research.

BUT>................................... Since i am not familiar with it, i'll comment anyway, why not. For rifles the weight will not be too much of an issue. IF you decide to use on hand guns, that's where weight will make a difference. You are going to have a few threaded 22 hand guns yes?
What's the weight of the suppressor you're looking at? i have a few 5.56 units you might want to check out weight wise to get an idea. Then again like potato chips, No one can shoot just One.

There are a handful of reviews out there.

For less than $600 I don't think it's a bad deal considering you'll be able to service it, rotate/cycle the baffles, etc...

My opinion though... I'd stick to a pistol caliber can that would handle multiple calibers, and the same for rifle cans.... but seeing this one... it has best of both worlds but in the .20 (5.56/.223, 22's, 17's, etc...) caliber world. If you shoot these calibers a lot... I'd say with this can "you'll get more bang for your buck!"

Sure, I'll give a couple sweeping opinions:

1) Anything can you shoot .22LR through should be able to be cleaned (you got that covered).
2) Stick to suppressing subsonic rounds, so you might consider a can for a 300 Blackout instead (such as the Liberty Mystic)
