Well let's hope Broomfield Sherrf does something. Haven't read anything yet about him, or what he thinks about the new laws.

Good news, even though he's not as vocal as some of his colleagues around the state, Ted Mink, the Jeffco Sheriff is pretty pro-2a, and with his term being up this year he's likely to be followed by the undersheriff, Ray Fleer, who is also pro-2a. West is a good move considering there are worse places (*cough* Boulder/Denver/Adams*cough*).

Another reason I enjoy living in Elbert county.
I sent him a "thank you" e-mail. I don't live in Elbert County, but I am glad to hear we have men like him on our side.

I'm not sure if all of you guys saw my post requesting .22 ammo for the 4H kids in Elbert County. But Sheriff Heap posted on the Elbert County facebook page that they have 140 kids in the 4H shooting program and was requesting donations of .22 ammo. I can say that between board members and myself, we donated at least 6000 rounds to the program. I emailed Sheriff Heap and asked him if there was one person I should ask for when I drop off the ammo. He told me to make sure that I tell the deputy that there should be an envelope for me. Not only did he respond in less than 10 minutes, he was extremely grateful and left me a Elbert County Sheriffs badge and a challenge coin for donating all the ammo. I know he did the same for another board member as well. He certainly didn't need to do that, but pretty damn cool if you ask me.
Sheriff Heap seems like a great guy and I am very proud to live in Elbert County. Hell, it almost makes me feel good about paying my speeding tickets.
