I call bullshit. That guy could do WAY better FTF. 2800$ was a pretty good price BEFORE the insanity. The last SCAR 17 mag I saw was 149$ EACH. That deal is too good, be careful.
My thoughts as well. After I suggested we use FFL dealer or escrow.com to complete transaction and I'd pick any costs...he whined about not understanding my questioning his integrity. BS so bad I could smell it through his email.

I've listed guns for sale on a lot of different gun forums and have had a few people ask to do the escrow thing or some other such hoop, at which point I simply go to the next person in line. CA buyers are by far the worst in this regard, they all seem to think everyone is out to rip them off.
The person you are dealing with might very well be trying to run a scam, but some of us simply won't jump through endless hoops to move an in-demand item when it's clear someone else will be along shortly.
