I've also read about lacquer clogging gas ports, broken extractors, stuck cases, etc. My personal experience is different and I'd be surprised if I've fired less than 50k rounds of steel ammo through my Colts. I'd also be willing to wager that the percentage of people who have had horrific experiences with steel-cased/lacquer-coated ammo vs the number of people who've reportedly had horrific experiences with the same ammo is probably very, very small.
What i got from that article is your fine with steel cased ammo just clean your rifle, understand you might have to deal with a stuck case once in a long while and that your barrel life will be shorter with bi-metal jackets (i think cheap S&B ammo has a bi-metal jacket). As for the Tula, who knows. It might have been the rifle, a bad batch or it is really that bad but my friend has gone through a couple of spam cans worth and has not had a problem yet.
