Oh the memories.
Had it done years ago at Ft Carson. Doc cauterized the tubes and the smell about made me puke. After the doc left, I asked the unfortunate tech how he could stand that smell. He said, "Makes me hungry." I seized up and asked why. Said, "My momma used to burn the feathers off chickens. Smells the same."
You'll find that they are tied off somewhere in your chest. They tell you you'll be fine in a month, but I did not stop feeling a tug now and then for about 6 months. Riding the Harley over bumps was the absolute worst; you can feel them yanking on your throat.
Get a six pack, open one to drink, and put the next one between your legs. keep cycling through until the pain goes away.
