Irving was looking for ideas of how to make money this week. That sounds like a fantastic one that i'd pay a couple bucks for, no doubt about it. I'm sure most 2a folks would.

The downfall of it is that it's GPS specific, and most 2a folks turn that shit off on their phones

Don't go there. What means more to you, your safety or appeasing your girlfriend?

"Concealed means concealed...if they tell you to leave, you leave, no problem..." misses the point.

You've just spent about $20 per person at an anti-gun business.

Meaning, you just rewarded the enemy and paid them to be anti-gun.

    Congratulations.

It's their business to run as they see fit. I'll respect their private property rights by going to the Elvis instead of the Mills, getting my hot wings at Quaker Steak and Lube instead of BWW, and buying overpriced jewelry from this guy on the 16th Street instead of Jared.

That is true. I'm not even particularly paranoid and I still don't really like stuff like FourSquare because it is so creepy that everybody feels like its okay to tell everybody where they are all the time. Also, battery life.

It would have to be developed by the right people and they would have to have the right wording/permissions on their site/app.

The app could also have a client-side "plan my shopping" section, where you didn't need to turn on anything. You'd just make up your shopping list - Harbor Freight, Gas Station, King Soopers, and it would tell you if they were okay or bad.

Perhaps showing up on a list with an app that has a few hundred thousand (or more) downloads that promises to help people avoid their business would make at least a couple businesses change their tune.

I think the hardest part would be vetting who goes on the list. I think the app itself would have to be sponsored by something like RMGO or (on a national level) the NRA or something. If it was user-edited, it would be a complete nightmare.

EDIT - Something like this app, but not just for carry - for businesses that donated to anti-gun politicians, etc. And again - not user maintained, because it would get crazy pretty quick.

Personally, I think the hardest part would keeping up with every stores policy changes, for good or bad.

Can't fix stupid, there are those that think a bad guy is going to really pay attention to a sign that says no firearms allowed. When a bad guy reads that they understand it to mean "come on in and do what you what, no one in here is armed to prevent you from doing whatever you want"

I go armed into every movie theatre I have ever entered, especially as an employee during college. I suggest you do the same.

    Edit:

Also, the Aurora shooter specifically went to that theatre because it was a gun free zone, and he specifically avoided carry a weapon past the armed off duty police in the lobby, because, well, they are armed. He instead opened a door and went outside, circumventing the "safety plans" the theatre had wisely devised. Well, it is easy to see how well those plans worked...

Something similar already exists in the Play store.
