Can an employer tell you if you park in their parking lot they have the right to search your car and you can be disciplined for having a firearm in your vehicle while it is in their parking lot? I thought your vehicle was considered an extension of your home in Colorado? Thanks for any help.

That said, a private employer has no "right" to enter your car. But you don't have a "right" to carry a gun in your vehicle on private property either - but the employer's remedy is to fire you or withdraw permission for you to park your car on their property.

An employer can fire you for a lot of things in Colorado. Bringing a firearm to work property against company policy, in most circumstances, is one of them.

This is SO wrong. There are several ways a police officer can search your car without a warrant. Same goes with employers on their property.

Colorado is at will work state. They can't make you unlock your car for them, but they can fire you for it and you have no recourse.
