Well Byte, because you are smart enough to not automatically discount what someone says, just because of who is saying it.

Meh, most of what he posts is drivel. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every once and a while.

    Broken clock and all that.

Best way to get in to see me at the shop is to call or email Shannon and make an appointment.

Nonsense. There are no "subsidies" to oil companies. In fact, oil companies pay a larger rate of taxes on their revenues than the majority of companies.

I get very upset with people who repeat talking points about taxation but have no clue how taxation law actually works.

In 2012, Exxon paid $31 $31.05 billion in taxes on Earnings before taxes of $78.73 billion from total revenue of $428.38 billion.

My roommate is a geophysist for Exxon, he could probably clear this up of I asked him.

Big oil posts big profit because they are everywhere. The profit margins are very small...typically under 5%.

"Indeed, oil companies have a much smaller profit margin than a computer or pharmaceutical company. But they do so much volume that the real dollars are enormous." From a CBS article in 2011.

Evil big oil. Shame on them for producing a commodity product that vastly improves our lives to make $.07 on a gallon of gas while the govt. that produces absolutely nothing makes over $.40 per gallon.
