Default Trigger reset problem on my latest AK

So a few weeks ago I got an Arsenal SAM7R. First thing I did was clean and grease it. I finally got around to shooting it on Saturday. The trigger seemed to almost pause when resetting. It felt strange to say the least. After a while it would actually stop at that point. A tap on the side of the receiver or a slight nudge on the back of the trigger would cause it to become operational again. This only happened twice. After I got home I cleaned the thing like crazy and oiled as much as the trigger as I could without removing it, no sticking but it still feels like it's being held up a bit in that same spot/there is some resistance there.

I've never experienced this with any of my previous AK's so I thought I'd ask the experts (doesn't say much, all my previous AK's have been Saiga conversions with G2 triggers). Something that may go away with use, should I get it polished, or should I look at buying an aftermarket trigger?

Check where the disconector catches the hammer sounds like it is sticking an holding it up. Make sure to take the top cover off and look at the trigger when you pull it and reset it.
    Don't be stupid!!!!!

Sounds like your missing one side if the hammer sprng is not on the trigger. The hammer spring engages the trigger and resets it

    Hammer spring looks fine.

Looking at the back of the hammer, where it engages the disconnector, the surface is kind of rough and uneven. I might take some light sand paper and see if it clears it up. I put some grease there and the problem pretty much went away. Thanks Beast.

check to make sure the back of the disconnector isn't rubbing the safety selector inside the receiver

    Nope, plenty of clearance there.

While your here Ms. Ray... Is it a horrible idea to trim a bit of the hammer off in the back to shorten the reset?

First are you holding the trigger back when it does it/ Also i would suggest you remove the sear spring, clean and stretch it out a bit. i had the same issue and replaced the weak spring with another one i located.

do you mean trim the sear (which is part of the trigger) to shorten the reset? trim away, whatever you think will work after studying how the ak fcg works that's how you learn if you goof it up (hard to do with an ak fcg if you're conservative) then it's not like you can't buy a new one
