Oh my god.... we need some common sense measures on assault knives to prevent senseless acts like this.

Make no mistake . . . they fully intend to get around to banning knives as well. In NYC if you are spotted carrying a LEGAL pocketknife you are automatically arrested on the spot under zero tolerance enforcement of a little known municipal statute which states all knives in NYC need to be completely concealed so as not to "alarm others." And, whenever someone has their residence searched, if they have a knife collection it is always released to the media and used by the prosecution to somehow attack their character. In CO, knives carried concealed on one's person must have a blade length of no more than 3.5" . . . unless you are in Denver, which apparently measures the entire cutting edge, and contrary to NYC states that a knife clipped to one's pocket is "concealed" and if the cutting edge is a fraction of an inch over 3.5" it is illegal . . . Denver is the only place I ever lived where I regularly see people using their pocket clip to clip their knife to the outside of their belt, simply to abide by the law if their blade is 3.75" or 4" long.

This might sound fucked up but I'm relieved that it was a knife and not a gun. Shitty situation all around but hopefully this won't come back to us in a bad way.

By the 6pm news, the guy will have had a gun in the trunk of his car, and thousands of rounds of "high-capacity ammunition" at home.

As Diana DeGette would say, 'the good thing is once you use them they are used up and cannot be used again'!

Early reports are the weapon was an X-Acto knife.

Time to raid Michaels and Hobby lobby to confiscate these assult weapons. No one needs a knife with a 1" blade. All knives should be limited to no more than 3/8" and cannot be affixed to any device to extend there range.

See, I could do Rhonda Fields job.

This is coming to mind http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4581871.stm

"They consulted 10 top chefs from around the UK, and found such knives have little practical value in the kitchen."
