Store mine in wood chips (bedding material) in a plastic crate that has holes for ventilation not exposed to any light. You need to keep them dry and cool. Make sure they don't contact another onion. Some onions do not store well some can store up to a year white store best

I've got an onion crock- it doesn't help. I keep them away from apples, don't keep potatoes, keep them in a dark place in their mesh bag... what am I doing wrong?
If you are shopping at the Buckley commissary... stop... the produce does not last longer than 3 days.

I love onions. I also heard they are a super-food.

We used to hang them kinda like clothes on a clothesline in our machine shed. Seems like they lasted most of the winter that way.

Yeah...I discovered that the hard way. I've found Sprouts to have some of the best produce. I shop the commissary for harder-to-find stuff.

That's something I hadn't thought of- are you talking the pine wood chips you can get at a pet store?

I don't have a problem with the onions. The potato salad, on the other hand...

I store mine, hanging in the net sack, in our kitchen closet. They will last for at least a month.

My wife takes a pair of panty hose, drops an onion in, ties it, then drops another in, ties that one, etc., until we get something sort of looking like a link sausage assembly of onions that we can hang up in the basement. Might sound a little odd, but its worked quite well actually and they last for a good long time.
