Check out Lost Creek Wilderness...plenty of trails, nice hiking and views. Weather is usually decent and acess to water is plentiful. Snowpack should be minimal or nonexistent in June. Got maps and a book if you want to borrow. Can give you intel on a few trailheads.

If this is the same area I'm thinking of, it's a nice spot to get to from Denver. My kids and I went there and it's full of great day Hikes. There is a creek that runs through and we fished Brookies with a fly rod. Some trails are longer but I always bring a water pump. On the way back we usually hit bud's in Sedalia for a burger.
