    Default DPD Response Time

God love our buddies in blue, but 14-17 minute response time to assaults and kidnappings!!!

I know DeGette had talked about DPDs excellent response time and I thought 3-5 minutes was too slow but 15 minutes is incredible!!!

Not a new news story, but I thought relevant because of DeGette's recent comments.

Only takes a few seconds to retrieve a gun, aim it, and fire it.

That's exactly why the LEOs that I know are comforted knowing that my husband and I carry. They know they can't usually get to a situation as it happens, no matter how hard they try. And to be perfectly honest, we go shooting far more often then our friends do.

Maybe that's why we don't have many friends

Well, last year one of my rental units was broken in by this scumbag/meth head ex-tenant. I called 911 and informed them the situation including that I was armed. DPD showed up 47 min later - told me he was by himself in that district that particular moment. He was cool though, didn't ask to see my ID nor asked anything about my gun.. Simply told me to wait while he cleared the house (we told him, the dumbass was probably gone already by then). Anyhow, 47 min on possible 'armed contact' still sucks!! We chatted afterward, apparently he arrested the same tenant in the same address few months back for stolen goods & vehicle. He mentioned how overwhelmed they are on certain night. Best of all, he was very supportive of 2A. I wonder if he ever joint this site as I mentioned it.

I mainly shoot 3-gun/rifle stuff, but I'm surprised, outside of Pueblo, how few cops I meet at shooting comps? Maybe more show up at IDPA/USPSA pistol shoots (which I don't go to much).

I was watching some internet video about the rich wanting tax cuts and the 99% was asking if the 1% would forgo govt services... with response times like these you had better plan on being your own defense....

Depends on time and location and district.
Usually, response time gets much faster after 10pm weekdays. (from my experience of calling 911)
