    Not very likely, but if you had an eyeball shot, maybe...their hide is very thick. I used to go fishing every Sunday after church with my friend Albert, back in GA.... his grandfather's pond was over run by the critters. The first time we took one, all we had was a .22mag. It took several shots. The short version is that we eventually started taking a 30-30 simply to make it more humane. Pistol calibers didn't do it easily either. When they're swimming, it's impossible (dare I say, it REALLY IS IMPOSSIBLE) to get a head shot.

    I am not buying all he was trying to do was take a picture..... They are usually love to get pictured.....
    I am sure their little photo session went just a bit too far....
