Any reason for choosing this MOS? Just wondering if you had other family members be engineers or if the recruiter set you into it. Can't really speak much of it since I was a 15T during my time in, and really Ft Drum isn't that bad. Thank you for your service.

Ft Knox and Ft McClellan definitely had trees right outside the door, but the problem was the big puddle of Chilli Mac just outside the door on the way to the tree

Looks the same coming out as it did going in... genius to serve that stuff before the gas house.

nope my dad was a radio operator. I chose it because I wanted to do a bit more than basic infantry. Also I've been fasnated with explosives and 12b tends to use a bit of explosives. At first I wanted EOD but all the EOD jobs were taken. Again thanks everyone for your kind words means alot!

I had basic at Camp Chaffee, Ark back in 1955 and I survived it just fine. My grandson joined the Army just one year ago and said basic is now a "piece of cake". Thanks for deciding to take the plunge and stay safe.

I hear they now get a "time out" card to flash at the DI when they feel it is all just "too much". I have one young Solider that has complained the "Civilians" in the shop are giving him a hard time.

I was commo but I was with a cbt hvy unit for a spell,and Byte couldn,t have said it better-be one with the suck!
Even us commo guys had to dig the ditches as well..
