We need a immediate ban on trains that have 15 or more cars. Think of the children.
I have a list of people that I would like to see play on the train tracks.
But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.

Played on the tracks, got the train.
Train - 1, assorted dumbasses - 0

I played on the train tracks all the time as a kid. When we heard the tracks start to squeal we got the hell off. Hell, we used to jump off the railroad bridge into the river. If I did that as a kid today, my parents would probably be arrested for child neglect.
I work for RTD, seen plenty of video regarding people being dumb around trains. Actually was on a lightrail train a couple of years ago when it impacted a guy passed out in the right-of-way on the Alameda fly-over. Damn lightrail can stop pretty fast when they max-brake. Regardless, it is almost always a fatality when it's a train vs. pedestrian. I used to work with a guy who would say: "Ya know why I've never been hit by a train?...Because I don't stand on the damn tracks." Pretty simply solution. However, if you want to play stupid games, you will be awarded with stupid prizes.
The character of a man can be judged by how he treats those who can do nothing for him
I feel for everyone involved- the kid included. Teens DO play stupid games like chicken (YouTube is full of vids involving Dumb teenage Tricks) and they don't really consider the consequences, because everyone at that age is pretty immortal in their mind. Doesn't anybody remember their mindset as a teen?
It's a sad thing, all around.
His parents must be going through hell right now.
If it will save the life of one child, don't we have an obligation to act?
