Default help identifying this colt AR ?

    hello -

just curious if anyone can help me determine if the AR that i have is a preban model or post ban ? i.e. made prior to '94 ?

it is a colt sporter match HBAR - .223 cal stamped on receiver. C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR stamped on barrel ?

is there a way to determine the build date based on the serial number ? because i don't know if there is another way to tell ?

    thanks

Does it have a flash hider? Thats the biggest give away that I know of.

Colt stopped putting bayo lugs on their rifles well ahead of the ban.

I googled around a bit on this topic once, and didn't find a whole lot of current information. After 2004 there wasn't much point for so many folks, and a lot of sites/forums have disappeared or not been kept up to date.

    This might help
