So I just convinced the wife to let me buy a brand new Savage Model 11 in .308win and Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40mm. The challenge right now is finding out the best mount and ring configuration for hunting purposes and maybe some long range shooting practice. I've been reading for 2 days and just cant figure it out; Single mount or 2 points, dove tails, leupold std, weaver, picatinny... (PPFFFTTTTTT!!!!!!! - mind blown - did not wear a helmet)


Does anyone have any recommendations for this dilemma?

By the way - are 308 rifles normally short action?
