    Default A Plea for Civility

    http://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot...-civility.html

Passions can get pretty heated in the gun-control debate, and there is some justifiable anger over the erosion of our basic liberties and rights, including the Second Amendment. That said, this "plea for civility" is timely and appropriate in the current environment.

"When once the forms of civility are violated, there remains little hope of return to kindness or decency."

    Samuel Johnson

"As citizens we have to be more thoughtful and more educated and more informed. I turn on the TV and I see these grown people screaming at each other, and I think, well, if we don't get our civility back we're in trouble."

    Emmylou Harris

“Civility means a great deal more than just being nice to one another. It is complex and encompasses learning how to connect successfully and live well with others, developing thoughtfulness, and fostering effective self-expression and communication. Civility includes courtesy, politeness, mutual respect, fairness, good manners...”

    Fuck 'em.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Jesse can take his civility to his Cafe Americain and piss up a rope. I don't care how civilly or politely or nicely someone tries to infringe on my liberties. It's still infringement.

And although it ought not to matter, I happen to be a long time gun owner, and have participated in regional matches, albeit in my younger years. And my son carries on in this. I don't speak of this much because it is not relevant to what I do intend to talk about. And I am in favor of background checks and licenses for things that can pose a danger to other people in their use, like airplanes, automobiles, and firearms.
That tells me everything I need to know about this guy.

I find it telling that Jesse's only specific examples of incivility come from conservative talk show hosts and a gun owner. Wish I could have the 5 minutes I spent reading this back...

Read my signature quote from John Adams. He had the right read on this noise.

    Yes...FUUUUUUUUUCK THEM.

Liberals use reverse Psychology. What ever a Liberal Scum bag asks you to do they are setting you up.
I do the exact opposite of what a Liberal says or does.

It is the old "Moral Courage" Communist Bullshit to put you in a position to look like the bad guy if you dont go along.

I reiterate: Fuck them as stated above to that HIPPY BULLSHIT.

You ever try to be civil to an INSURGENT?

I see no reason to be particularly civil to those that choose to disrespect my rights, disregard my opinions, and continually pick my pockets to finance their agenda to deprive me of my rights, freedom, and livelihood. Fuck 'em, indeed!

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?
