aurora res. has the state record at 43 pounds, I've had good luck at pueblo res. in the coves on the north and west ends, as well as the Arkansas river above where it goes into the fountain, just stay above the fountain merge, it goes to shit after that.... literally.

I recently had to drain a reservoir here at work and I pulled out probably 10 catfish that were all over 26" long. This reservoir is directly filled by Standley Lake so I'd imagine they are in there as well.

Since the next question will be. Any catfish recipes? here ya go

    Catfish tips:
Let sit in fresh water then rinse 1x. Before cookingplace cf in milk bath. . Before placing in pan, baking dish, grill etc wring the catfish out as much as possible. The milk rinse eliminates most if not all the "fishy, muddy" taste. I like doing a flour dredge, then egg then back to flour before frying. if broiling a nice cajun dry rub does real well. Some okies passed on the tip for a milk rinse. The guys dad set up a pool that had fresh water filtering through it cleaning out the cats 2-3 days before killing n grillin. yummmmmmmmm

I live by Standley Lake, none of the fishermen I've spoken talked about getting catfish, but then these guys fish from the shore.
