The give away on the nest at 120th and Federal is the portable road sign telling people not to stop. Of course there are always a few people who just don't read signs.

In the swamp behind our neighborhood in Southern Maryland, there were several breeding pairs of Bald Eagles. The first time you see an adult bird standing in the middle of a field, it is pretty surprising just how big they are. They are scavengers. I actually prefer to watch the hawks hunt p-dogs.

We have some around Green Mtn. feeding on the prairie dogs in the north field of Red Rocks College. Also seen them cruising the fields west of King Soopers on Union/Alameda.
Also seen them lurking around the Colorado River Kremmling, Bond, Burns and back to I-70.

When riding motorcycles around Deckers we've seen them gliding along the river alongside us, also perched in the higher trees. They fly parallel to you kind of looking over at us now and then...cool.

Below is a Baldy taking out a Red Tail attacking its nest that made the rounds last week.

P.S. I've heard ravens are the only bird known to fly 'towards' gun shots. They've learned to associate gun shots with death and food scraps.
