View Full Version : Magpul duplicated my airlift order unauthorized

Last week I get a email from Magpul saying my order was shipped, I didn't think anything of it probably just a glitch on their part. Because I already received my Boulder Airlift mags a month before hand. The next day money is pulled out of my account unauthorized by me. I called Magpul was on hold for two hours and gave up. Then I sent an email to Magpul explaining the issue. Four business days later still no response. My credit union wants me to fill out some dispute paper work and send it back to them, because they can't do shit because I've done a transaction with Magpul in the past. So here I am now waiting on a duplicate Magpul shipment that I didn't want and out $193.00. The reason I'm bitching is because A) I didn't authorize this purchase and feel powerless. B) I already have enough Pmags. C)I was wondering if this exact thing has happened to any other members? Bitch/rant over!!!
Kind of sucks because it seems like they didn't do it on purpose, but because of the huge volume they are dealing with it will be a while before it is addressed.
B) I already have enough Pmags.
I'm not tracking with that one, although there is a remedy. Sell or trade them.
They are running over capacity for sure. Plus they really aren't a "retail" company. I finally got the rest of my order, I got charged for shipping on my back order. Only 5 bucks, I'm not gonna waste my time. 193.00 is worth bitching about. You bank should see that it is a dupe charge and reverse it. WTF you do business with a company once and now they have unlimited access to debit your account, change banks.
Mine went fine. For the LR308 portion of the order, the mags arrived first, I got billed the following week, and the email with the tracking number showed up 2 weeks after that.

I had an order with them that was charged to my debit card... I was excited because I thought it meant the order would ship soon. A few days later, the charge was credited back to my account. A few weeks later another credit in the same amount appeared and then disappeared from my account. Another week passed and the charge appeared again. I then received my shipment a few days later.
Bottom line is that it worked out in the end, but I *was* out a few dollars for a few weeks here and there while they sorted it out. I never called them because I figured it'd come out in the wash eventually. It definitely would have bugged me if I was tight on funds, but at that particular time, I wasn't running too close.
FWIW...

Yeah, I'm not very happy with the credit union. The money is not an issue it's the principle that is so easy to pull money out of my account. My initial Boulder Airlift order was divided into two shipments 5 308 mags with 5 Gen 3mags. The second shipment was my 5 Gen 2's. I hope they don't do the same duplicate order for the Gen 2's. I'll probably keep the Gen 3's and trade or sell the 308 mags. It just pisses me off that I have to go through the trouble to sell/trade them to get my money back or break even on their mistake, because I don't want to make a profit on the Airlift mags.

They did the same thing to me.
Also had a buddy who had his duplicated as well. Be patient and cut them some slack. It's not a good business practice but they were very unprepared to run like they have been lately. I'm sure it's a shit show up there at Magpul!

Yea I had some weird stuff happen with mine as well. Originally they changed me for 10 mags, only 5 shipped, then a little bit later the other 5 shipped and I thought we were done. Then last week I got charged again and told 5 more were on the way. No big deal as I figured I'd either just keep them, or pass the deal onto someone else.
Bad thing is this mystery set of mags has never arrived.
i fail to see the problem here. sell them for a small profit. problem solved.

I'm sure there's more than 1 person willing to buy you out.

No Shit.. Either an order didn't ship as "promised" or they double shipped. While i understand being pissed about the double charge sell the damn things, how hard can that be. In 38 days MP, or for that matter anyone else will no longer ship mags over 15 rds to or in CO.

Same ish thing happened to me only I got my pmags a day after a shipment notification but they didn't charge me for a month!! I thought they double billed me then I realized they never charged me until a month later.. So they are obviously crazy overwhelmed! But they were trying to help us so hard to be too mad at them.

Apparently it just happened to me 2 days ago. WTF? Who do I email/call?
ETA: NM. It was them charging me for my Gen 3 Backordered pmags, just got charged pretty late.
I was double billed by them yesterday; figured I'd call and get it sorted out today but it seems the second charge was credited back to my account a little while ago. The other problem I have is that my mags didn't show up with the order and were marked as "back ordered" and I wouldn't be charged for them until they ship...I was charged for them. Guess we'll see what can be done about it later today.

I agree if they charged me again and shipped me another set it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is the fact that they charged me and said they shipped it 8 days ago, and I still haven't seen them show up at my house. I live less than 15 minutes from Magpul, I'd think they'd have been here by now.

It's not your credit union's fault, unauthorized debit/checkin withdrawal dispute processes are just about universal in that you have to send in forms and then wait a month or two for the bank/CUnion to investigate and then credit you back. Not to mention you'll have to ship back magpul's product.
It's credit Card disputes that are the easy ones to dispute and quickly get the charge amount put on hold. And this is one of the big reasons to use them exclusively for online purchases instead of 'direct cash' debit cards.

Just went and dug through my account and found they were just back charging me for the earlier shipment.
On 3/5 they charged me $154.83, which I saw go through then and thought I was done.
Then on 3/10 they charged me $72.70 for the Gen2's and shipped them. They arrived a few days later.
About a week after that I received the Gen3's.
Then out of the blue on 4/18 they charged me $83.93.
After digging through my account I found that they had refunded the original charge of $154.83. So in the end I did get charged the correct amount, it was just weird they came back almost a month after I had received them to charge me for the gen3's.

It sounds like Magpul could use some people in accounting. Anyone know if they are hiring in Colorado?

We've got a bit more time than that. Iddiot laws go into effect July 1 not June 1.

how about no more bitching about magpul?
I wasn't bitching, just trying to figure out what the hell they were doing with all the weird charges on my account, I have plenty of mags, but decided to take advantage of this generous offer and grab some more for my children.
You wouldn't question a random $83 charge to your card almost a month after you had what you thought was your complete order in hand?

and now we have dickheads selling those magazines for a profit.
there are people all across the country who ordered pmags before you guys. and they are waiting so you could buy magazines direct from magpul. then you sell them at a profit. fuck you.[Awesom]

You can always consign them at The Shootin' Shack! (Shameless plug). Make sure you get at least what you paid for them back, and maybe a few extra bucks if you'd like. The few we have left on consignment here are going for $35, so list them for quite a bit less and they will fly out. 15% is our consignment fee.
I may have a partial dupe on its way also, just received another shipment notice and for $15 each I really don't want any more, I always buy from DSG at Christmas for $10 reach and free shipping.
Since they are not a retail seller and they did this only to help keep us armed and free, I will suck it up, who knows I may actually need them sometime soon to defend our liberty.
For the OP, never use a debit card for any purchase or subscription, what you experienced happens at most if not all banks/credit unions, credit cards have a purpose and they can be cancelled much easier than closing a bank account.
Also got a notification for 5 more mags for $80 some. Not good timing. Going to have to list for sale rather than try and deal with their madhouse.

After this ordeal I'm strictly using my credit card for all Internet transactions. I'm worried I might never get my duplicate pmag order and have to contest the charge through my credit union. Which I'd rather not do. We'll see.

I got another shipping notice the other day. Thought it was a duplicate till I looked at the shipping date. It was for 3 weeks ago when my order shipped.
