Worst feeling ever: Scratching a new gun....
Trying to pull a shotgun apart to remove reducer plug (if there is one, seems to be mixed reports online) and I scratched a post trying to use some pliers.... Dangit. Pisses me off. Is it going to rust on me now?
Oh well, back to it.
Pics or didn't happen [Flower]
It's like the first (inevitable) ding on a new car. It rarely affects function. Drive on.
I say look on the bright side...it takes the pressure off. Now you don't have to feel bad getting it dirty, little dings down the road, or somebody dropping it. It's truly your gun!

Asking for pics is like asking how ugly she really was, lol. I'll try to get some up but don't hold your breath.

Yeah... I guess, but I still didn't get that part off to see if there is a reducer plug or something. Oh well. I'll tackle it some other day.

Sorry to hear that. He's got a beauty! I had the privilege of shooting it this AM!
Now it's broken in.... It's all good. It shoots very well!
Rust? In CO? I wouldn't worry about it...
Yeah, it was a lot of fun Mark. Haven't done that in months!!! At least it's all clean again now, lol.
Thanks again.

1911 idiot mark is a full on NOOOOOOO moment when you have cleaned and taken them apart 100 times. So irritating.
I know how you feel Bear- I curse the day I got the idiot mark on my 1911... I went into a fit of swearing like Eric Cartman easily for 10, maybe 15 seconds. It sucks, but shouldn't be too much to worry about.

Well that gun is toasted, and now is worthless. Give it to me, I'll make sure to dispose of it properly for you at no cost. I'll even meet you at a location of your preference.[Flower]

HAHAHA, best reply yet. No Sir, this one is a keeper. Just pissed that I screwed it up already. But, it was bound to happen sooner or later, right?

Yup!! I have rifles shotguns and pistols with "battle scars". You can't avoid them. Some of my pieces, after re-bluing you can't tell though.

1. if your gun looks perfectly new and shiny it is either a) new. b) has not been shot enough. Go practice more.
2. Or do what my friend did. Send it over to Zulu 13 and have it Dura coated and make you gun look shiny and sexy again.
a. Then go practice more.

Just on my phone so can't do a proper search, but just search the forum some good pictures. It is basically scratching the finish putting the slidestop back in place
