View Full Version : Broncos due for another loss?
I'm just watching the universe unfold. Haven't seen anyone this passionate about anything, since a friends wife caught him with not 1 but 2 naked women in their garage. Myself, i was merely a witness, AND holding the camera;)
Should have stuck a microphone in the wife's face and asked her how her day at work was.

Considering how hot she was (pre-heroin addiction) there may or may not have been other things crossing my neural pathways. They were a rolla coaster of intensity. Of course her doing a strip tease after a few bottles of alcohol AT a family orientated party, was awesome. Her bra flew like a bouquet at a wedding.

Top NFL official says Welker's hit on Talib was legal (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfls-top-official-welkers-hit-on-talib-legal1-012314)
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. The NFL's officiating chief has cleared Broncos receiver Wes Welker of any wrongdoing for his hit that knocked Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib out of Sunday's AFC Championship.
''It was a legal hit,'' Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino said on the NFL Network on Wednesday night.
On Monday, New England coach Bill Belichick blasted Welker for the hit, calling it ''one of the worst plays'' he'd seen in nearly four decades of coaching. Without mentioning his former player by name, Belichick said it ''was a deliberate play by the receiver to take out Aqib, no attempt to get open.'' He added, ''I'll let the league handle the discipline on that play.''
There will be no discipline for Welker; Blandino said there was simply no infraction of the rules.
Welker, coming from the right, collided with Talib, who was running from the left to stay with his receiver, a split-second before Peyton Manning's pass went off the hands of receiver Demaryius Thomas a few yards away in the first quarter Sunday. No flag was thrown.
Talib left the game with a knee injury and didn't return, and Manning threw for 400 yards in Denver's 26-16 win that sent the top-seeded Broncos to the Super Bowl.
''The first potential foul would be for offensive pass interference; a receiver can't block downfield before the ball is touched, so the timing is important,'' Blandino said on his weekly appearance on the NFL Network. He noted that as ''contact occurs, the ball is touched almost simultaneously. We don't have a foul for pass interference.''
''The other thing, is it unnecessary roughness? Under the current rules it isn't,'' Blandino said. ''It's not late; Talib wasn't out of the play.''
Given that an injury occurred, Blandino said he expects the league's competition committee to examine the play in the offseason ''and determine if there needs to be a change. But under the current rules, this is a legal play.''
Welker, who had a cool relationship with Belichick before leaving New England as a free agent last offseason, hasn't been available for comment this week as the Broncos won't practice until Thursday.
But after the game, Welker said, ''it was one of those plays where it's kind of a rub play and I was trying to get him to go over the top, and I think he was thinking the same thing and wanted to come underneath and we just kind of collided. ... It wasn't a deal where I was trying to hit him or anything like that.''
Broncos coach John Fox responded to Belichick's stinging criticism on Monday by saying Welker is a ''a great player, high integrity. I can say that we were not doing anything with intent.''
At 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, Welker is 4 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter than Talib. He's also wearing a special helmet to guard against further head injury after missing the final month of the season with his second concussion. He's also never been known as a dirty player.
Patriots safety Steve Gregory said he didn't think Welker would deliberately try to hurt a player, saying, ''I don't think anybody plays that way, especially at this level of football with two great football teams in the Broncos and ourselves.''
Blandino said he has spoken with Belichick this week about the play ''and obviously there is a difference of opinion there and something that we'll continue to look at during the offseason.''

Starting? This has been Richard Sherman since high school. It's nothing new.
I wasn't referring to just Sherman with that comment. I said the Seahawks were starting to look trashy in reference to some other player's recent comments.
Brandon Browner saying he wanted to choke Harbaugh. Then getting banned for life for PED use.
Golden Tate said he wanted to give Harbaugh the Sean Lee treatment. Yeah that's real classy considering the Sean Lee treatment refers to an illegal hit Tate was fined for.
Lynch refusing to speak with the media then wearing a shirt that says "F*** You" all over it after the league forced him to spend time with reporters.
That sure is a culture of class over there in Seattle.
Sherman is good and I know he has a chip on his shoulder. Doesn't make his post game interview any more classy.
So, what do you experts think of the Broncos chances in the Big Show?
In a controlled environment Manning and Co pick the D apart enough to take a win. Throw in some NY weather as a variable and unless it's a freak of a beautiful day, I'm afraid any advantage runs away from a finesse offense.
Too simplistic? Thoughts?

My younger brother lives in Seattle. The wife and I were planning on flying up for a visit this year so we are going over Super Bowl weekend. We will wear Bronco gear all weekend to spread our vibes in Seattle.
Broncos handle the Seahawks like they did with the Chargers and the Patsies. Clean game and no turnovers. Broncos win 31 to 17.

Okay, I take back what I said about Sherman:
http://clashdaily.com/2014/01/sherman-vs-crabtree-tale-tape/
The clip, (‘Sound FX’: Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree clash (http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-sound-efx/0ap2000000316744/Sound-FX-Sherman-and-Crabtree-clash)), shows Sherman making the pivotal play to seal the game, celebrating with his team mates, and then running across the field to Crabtree, hand outstretched for a handshake. He says, “Hell of a game, Hell of a game,” when Crabtree responds with a shove to the facemask, pushing him away.
The clip also shows Sherman exchanging hugs and handshakes with 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton (#11) and running back LaMichael James (#23). He tells James that he hopes 49ers linebacker, NaVorro Bowman, is not hurt bad and that he wishes him well. Bowman left the game after an excruciating knee injury.
I still think Manning isn't going to give Seattle the openings that SF did so the game will unfortunately be yet another blowout but the latter quote above shows Sherman in a good light.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman fined $7,875 for tauntin (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/seattles-sherman-fined-7875-for-taunting1-012414)g
NEW YORK (AP) Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was fined $7,875 for unsportsmanlike conduct/taunting in the final minute of the NFC championship game against San Francisco.
Sherman's fine was confirmed by the league Friday.
Sherman was flagged after he made a choking gesture toward the San Francisco bench that he said was directed at quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Sherman had just deflected a pass intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone that was intercepted by linebacker Malcolm Smith and clinched Seattle's 23-17 victory.
Sherman ran over and after tapping Crabtree on the backside and extended his hand for a handshake. Crabtree then shoved Sherman in the face. The All-Pro cornerback then made the choking gesture.
Sherman was the only player fined in the game.

...of which he has done none of. It should also be noted that the Dallas Cowboys lineman was convicted this week of killing his teammate in a drunk driving accident last year. Was he ever fined? Media report that one? It seems our societal standards are askew. Weird.

Of course not. But a COMPETITIVE athlete says something unoffensive and gets amped up about beating a player who has repeatedly bad-mouthed him and he's the scurge of society. It's laughable.

Professional athletes = pop stars = politicians. They are all untouchable celebrities unless it becomes the best interest of the state to abandon them.
My point is this is a non-issue and I haven't the foggiest why there's so much uproar over nothing, mostly from this who don't even follow football.

Broncos due for another loss? (https://www.ar-15.co/threads/121303-Broncos-due-for-another-loss)
I think so. This will be only the 5th time in league history that the #1 offense has faced the #1 defense in the big game. 3 out of 4 of those previous occurrences has ended with the #1 defense winning.

Talk about a statistic that has zero relevance on this game. It's bad enough when people try to compare past meetings of the same teams that didn't even have the same personnel but now we're going to say a stat about other teams entirely is relevant? This sounds like one of those 50/50 stats that over time will balance out. That could start as soon as this Sunday.

Maybe so; we'll see. It's not a useless stat though. The point is that defenses typically win championships. If you can't score, you can't win.
Has Seattle played anyone this year that actually had an offense? They played the cardinals, rams, and 49ers twice. Not exactly offensive power houses.
Any given sunday. We'll see how it plays out this weekend.

This is exactly what I was thinking, they might have the best defense but who have the played? Broncos defense is not bad either, especially against the run, and their offense is way better than Seattle's. Seattle is very good a creating turnovers though. If the Broncos can hold onto the ball they will win.

Not in the 'new NFL' it doesn't. With all the rule changes to protect the QB and the receivers (read: scoring) we're going to see a continuing trend towards offense being more important than defense. Saying defense wins championships is an old way of thinking just like saying the forward pass is a fad.

I said that whoever had the most rushing yards, Blunt or Moreno their team would win. I was right. I also said that whoever won the turnover battle would win in the 49ers & Seahawks game. The latter will apply to the Denver/Seattle game as well. Whoever wins the turnover battle will win the Superbowl because possessions will be more critical than rushing yards since it will be a close battle.

So what's your take on the final score? 2-3 point win, OT sudden death, blow out by either side.
Myself i hope the weather is decent. Those east coast fukers are martyrs when it comes to bad weather. Todays NoCo snow is a BLIZZARD on the east coast. Then again, an epic Buffalo style snow storm would be fitting.
I predict a 10 point or less spread, with a Broncos victory and 1 turnover or lack thereof will determine the game.

35-10 Denver, maybe even 35-9. The only reason the Seahawks won the NFC were the massive number of mistakes SF made. Peyton isn't going to make the same bad throws Colin did that gave the Seahawks a fighting chance much less the game.

Preseason is people playing for just a few series of downs - trying to secure a job (spot on the roster). Doesn't mean squat.

Preseason is probably one of the worst indicators of future performance in the NFL.
Examples:
Redskins Preseason: 4-0 Regular season: 3-13
Texans Preseason: 3-1 Regular season: 2-14
Both teams won more in 4 games than the entire 16-game season. There's more but you get the point. Preseason records mean nothing in the regular season let alone the Superbowl an entire regular season & postseason later.

Yeah, piss on the outdoor game in Jersey idea.
The lowly Cardinals beat the Hawks at home late in the reg season. As mentioned earlier, SF owned the first half and let it get away from them. If Peyton and the Bungholes don't get frazzled in the first half from some magic pixie dust shit that might happen for the Hawks, then it's gonna be a Denver victory. Prediction? Broncos 20-30 pts : Seahawks less than 20 pts.
*for the anal types, 27-17*
What I would really like to see, is a strong Bronco running game, and Sherman getting flamed a few times, at least. And a strong showing from our D, shut those fuckers down, and hard.

To heck with Denver getting a Super Bowl and having ANYTHING in New Jersey is BS but I have to say I was in favor of a good old fashioned Snow Bowl 20-30 years ago after watching all the fair weather cr-p from Miami and SF. One of my favorite moments was watching Dan Marino attempting to play during a near blizzard in Green Bay -- okay, "watching" is somewhat loose as I saw mostly snow. :D

I think we still say that. He needed his franchise player friends and a 85 million roster to get it done. The Heat represent everything that is wrong with the NBA, but that is another topic.
Oh did he? Look at the Cav's record the season before he arrived & then the next season after he took them to the finals. That should be a pretty good indication of how good he is.
Did Jordan win w/o his team? Did Kobe win w/o his supporting cast? It's not a 1 on 1 game... ask Kevin Garnet about that one.

I think we all remember that the most dominant team in the league laid an egg because their "superstar" didn't show up either because he choked or threw the series only to later screw over the city and the fans.

Oh, so the loss was all on Lebron. I wasn't aware he was being judged 5 on 1 so that seems fair. I love it. He leaves money on the table to go win championships after he gave Cleveland his best years and they never surrounded him with talent and he's called greedy. Ok.
This argument is idiotic from a any logical standpoint but if you insist on having it feel free to start a new thread and I'll come tell you how stupid you're being in that thread because this thread is about the Broncos and unless LBJ wants to come play TE for the Donks this conversation has no place here.

Did you guys hear yet that dickweed boxer Mayweather has bet no less than $10 million in Vegas, on a Broncos win? That would be the only reason I can think of that I'd be ok with them losing.
He'll have to kiss his $$$ goodbye. Seahawks will win. It's destined...

Awww, come on Jer........there's still another half to go.
Granted, I switched channels, but I'll keep flipping back to see if there is any glimmer of hope at this point.

First play of the 2nd half should erase any idea of a come back.

Even w/o Sherman they still have the best defense in the NFL. In fact he's probably only the 3rd or 4th best DB on his own team.

No, he's the best corner in the league. They just happen to have the best safety pair in the league to accompany him.

I swear to god, some people just want to argue so bad they don't even read what you're actually saying before they rush to disagree.

A corner is always a DB, but a DB is not always a corner.

I'm aware. There isn't a better DB in the league. There isn't a safety that has his abilities.

I believe there are more things involved in our world than just men and football players... And many of those 'things' have been pointing to the time of sacrificing of the horse. There are no coincidences.

If you have no comment on it then don't post it. You're spreading this garbage and that's why this sort of garbage exists.
haha yeah I don't think they threw it intentionally or that it was consciously rigged by anyone, but it was certainly an unexpected and disgusting blowout. By far the worst game I've seen any NFL team play in a very long time, especially the recent Broncos.
We'll....how about them nuggets!
