We'll the older generation screwed the younger generations when they passed NAFTA and China Free Trade. Its just a fact of life, it now takes 2 incomes to earn the same buying power that my dad had in the late 1970s. Plus add in student debt which you old farts had no where close to that load. Student costs have gone up 800% more than inflation since the mid 80s.... well, even kids who have a decent job would be smart to live with their parents. You are complaining about the symptoms of society failure and blaming the victims. Blame the people who changes the rules decades before these kids ever tried to find a job. Yeah there are jobs, but its not like you remember at all. Once NAFTA and China Free Trade became reality... well that was the beginning of the end.

Pot... its just a symptom.

Invalid argument. Instead of blaming the past, the youngsters should be pulling themselves up by the bootstraps, and actually achieving something, instead of whining about how their poor little entitled-attitude asses have been wronged.

And I don't even consider myself that old.

Back here in the real world there are 5 applications for every job. Don't blame the victim always. Take responsibility for the crap sandwich that Washington has served us from things like bad business laws and trade agreements that have made our trade deficit so bad they don't bother reporting it anymore. I find it strange that people who complain about the gov still blame the victims of Government policies.

In the real world, slackers who waste their time smoking weed and playing videogames, living off someone else's efforts, as opposed to taking responsibilty for their own advancement and putting forth serious effort, are not victims of anything but their own folly.

I guess you glossed over the 5 applicants for every job part. That is normal when the narrative does not match your preconceived conclusion. The same stuff happened in Japan during their "lost decade". Its a symptom of a society where a honest job can not permit an honest living. Its not a matter of drive its just a reality that they face. So the natural human tendency is to self medicate rather than despair and suicide.

Once again your logic is flawless...

I guess you glossed over the 5 applicants for every job part.
No, I didnt. It is just weightless statistical fluff you are using to try to re-enforce your point [see your own comment on narratives and pre-concieved conclusions]. Likely there are a LOT MORE than 5 app's for any given job opportunity, but we're not talking about motivated, driven, acheivers here, are we? Try to stick to the argument at hand.

Don't blame the victim always. Take responsibility for the crap sandwich that Washington has served us from things like bad business laws and trade agreements that have made our trade deficit so bad they don't bother reporting it anymore.
Don't create a victim where there is not one. There are young folks out there who want to work, want to acheive, and strive to better themselves. Some of them are having a hard time doing that in this economy. I think we can all agree on that, and we should be able to agree that those are not the focus of this whole argument.

I find it strange that people who complain about the gov still blame the victims of Government policies.

Part of the problem with the generation in question is the willingness (maybe even eagerness) to find someone to blame for their sorry plight. I guess that's the path of least resistance. And who is it that these purported "victims" are blaming? Society, the government, corporate America. Must not be any mirrors in those basements. See the bold emphasis above. Just WHO are you directing to take responsibility? Does not a portion of the responsibilty to correct the mess that is society, fall on your generation as well? You all seem to have so many answers, why not contribute, istead of only bitching and blaming?

That is normal when the narrative does not match your preconceived conclusion. The same stuff happened in Japan during their "lost decade". Its a symptom of a society where a honest job can not permit an honest living. Its not a matter of drive its just a reality that they face. So the natural human tendency is to self medicate rather than despair and suicide.
I have not strayed from my viewpoint concerning those that will not acheive anything that is not handed to them. You keep trying to argue that they are ALL victims of bad government, and deserve to be handled with kid gloves. You are the one who steadfastly spouts off about how these poor children have been wronged, and the oldsters need to be held to blame. If an idividual doesn't have enough pride in themselves, and the fortitude to at least make the effort to improve their lot in life, then I guess they were born to be a victim. But as I stated in my earlier post, that is the fault of no-one outside their immediate realm.

That said, I could care less if you smoke weed, or whether or not you play video games, or where you live. Just don't sit around feeling sorry for yourself, and blaming everyone else for your misfortune, whoever you may be. If you have the energy to complain, you should have the energy to make some effort. [this last paragraph is not directed at you, personally, nynco. I don't know you, or your personal situation. It is a statement in regards to the opinion I have stated about this issue]

ETA: I'm sure you will have a rebuttal, but don't be offended if I respond no further.

Yes on the Micro scale every person should better themselves and never stop trying. But on the MACRO scale, there are some big problems that Washington's rules about trade and business laws that have caused macro trends to degrade. One must never look at only one side and say that is the only reason. One way of people on the micro scale trying better themselves is the Tea Party on the Occupy Wallstreet movement.

Again, I don't get the disconnect on the conservative side where they deride Washington and the crooked laws and system but then can't make the connection to people having a hard time finding real jobs.

Honestly why is that?

Its not because of Pot because Pot has always been and always will be here.

Its so bad that I know an ER Doc who can not find work and has not been able to for a while.

Also I agree with you for the most part Cray

This in my eyes is my biggest deal. And exactly the way I feel. You got lemons? Make some lemonade or stfu.

Kids these days have no spine and no fortitude.

Step 1. STOP SMOKING WEED. You loose at least a quarter of all available jobs.

Step 2. Apply at places that are hiring and Fuck it apply at places you WANT to work. I've gotten jobs from places that weren't hiring

This fucking pisspoor atitude pisses me off. Sure it ain't like what our parents times were. Shit happens. Deal with it or miss The fucking bus. Coz it ain't waiting.

Right now, there is no one to vote for and I mean that honestly. Our two party system is no longer functioning or functional, its bought. I have to wonder if gun control at the same time as NAFTA is part of a larger plan to mitigate societal agitation. Just look at Obama and the trans pacific trade agreement, the GOP are just as much for that too. I honestly think there is no hope short of election reform because right now both sides are the problem just in differing ways.

Do you guys think these DEMONcRAT colorado politicians will try to do away with SBRs and silencers? It seems that most states w mag cap bans also ban nfa items. I know you can't be 100 percent sure what will happen until it does but if you had to guess, do you think its something that might be attacked?

Of course they will try to ban SBRs and suppressors all together, even though there is already a very lengthy process in place and enough background checking to land yourself a job at the WH... maybe not this year but if allowed to run amuck past 2014 and beyond they will eventually try to ban everything. That is part of what a leftist/communist/progressive/democrat is all about.

Oh thank Jeebus! For a second there I was about to lose my nerve and start sending emails to our state representatives (which strangely that word is losing meaning these days, but I digress).

Nynco- since you really think the two-party system is just voting for one party, please explain the Tea Party victory in 2010... Ya know, those guys/gals that were elected that now the RINOs are trying to tarnish?
