Just checking to see what, if any plans people have today. Whether it's the traditional ham dinner, or something else, what are you and yours enjoying today?

For me the milder weather coaxed me into firing up the smoker for the first time since October for a pork shoulder. I injected it with some Angry Orchard hard cider with just a bit of my dry rub mixed in. I also put a pot of beans in with it that has some bbq sauce and some more rub mixed in to let it cook and soak up some smokiness. Corn on the cob will go in with about 1 1/2 hours left to heat up and some crescent rolls to finish dinner off. For dessert I cut up a couple pounds of strawberries and have them macerating in 1 tbsp of sugar and 2 tsp of Grand Marnier that I'll mix with fresh whipped cream.

I think my mom is doing a ham. Probably my least favorite meal but I'm not going to turn away free food.

Doing a takeout order from Boston market. Wife and MIL are both recovering from illness so we're doing it easy this time. Meatloaf and sides...nom nom nom

My friend Tony (Market) has prepared a wonderful spread of Prime Rib, potatos, salad, breans, rolls and apple pie.

Just heat and serve.

We we added a small ham since the PR was pretty small but the kids don't really like it anyway.

Taking the daughter and SIL out to dinner for the SIL's birthday (which is actually Wednesday). His choice is Texas Roadhouse, so it looks like we'll be doing steak tonight.

It's not on the menu, but they have a 32 oz. ribeye available. It's pretty damn delicious.

I'm putting a rib roast on the rotisserie, steaming some broccolini, and roasting some Colorado Gold potatoes.

Went last week to buy a brisket for the smoker. Had sticker shock! Whole briskets are $40-45!! I don't normally buy red meat, so I hadn't noticed that price had increased by double since last year.
Went to the pork section and got ribs instead. Price is pretty close to what I paid last year.

Ended up doing 4 slabs of St Louis style ribs on Thursday and still eating them! Yum!

Sounds like people had some good eats today. Felt weird cooking all this with my wife in Boise. Kids were at their dad's and at the last minute were told to eat there instead of here, so it was 2 siberian huskies and I for dinner.

Smoked pork loin, homemade cole slaw, corn bread and garlic butter corn (just finished half hour ago). All of this after plinking with Pook all afternoon. Twas a good day. Well, besides the hormone enraged tantrum by the 17 year old stepdaughter, but that's almost a daily event.
