So, my wife just called me to let me know that some lowlife, pond scum, herpes infested, inbred sister fucker stole the stereo out of our Smart last night. We live on a cul-de sac at the end of a block and a half long street with only one way in or out. I haven't seen the damage yet, so I don't know what else they fucked up. What really irks me is that I just had the damn thing out the previous night to repair a glitch in the video board. I hope that they try to install it and manage to get between the power cable and chassis and get electrocuted with their balls as the ground, get a burn blister that gets infected with Strep, and die a slow death via necrotizing fasciitis [Mad]

It's actually been a great little car. 42 mpg average in town, holds 2 full sized adults and all their crap, and with the addition of $150 worth of graphics, it makes one hell of a memorable advertisement for my shop. [Coffee]

I only WISH it was the OE stereo (Dealer quoted $2100 JUST for the head unit, installation extra [Shock]). This one had a Kenwood GPS/DVD unit mounted in the dash, so the insurance company will only pay to replace that, less the $500 deductible. The weird thing is that they took the stereo, but left the change cup(~$10 of assorted change).

I think that is stupid as shit personally. I drive a 4 cylinder Kia Spectra around so I defintely am not averse to driving a small car. I just can't see the appeal of a Smart Car. I will take a 5 MPG reduction from that 42 MPG in town with my Kia to drive around a car that looks like a car and not like a toy.

That really sucks... but I just don't believe this quote; we can't even fit all our crap in a Tundra with a topper. Then again we are pretty organizationally challenged.

On a side note, that's interesting that they left the change; we had a similar issue a few years ago but it was about $50 in cash and change right in the open. Walked around and talked with the neighbors and found out that a couple of high school kids had been through the neighborhood earlier that night selling coupon books. We were able to track down the company and the kids but could never prove it was them. If it was I hope tracking them so easily scared them enough that they never did it again.

Hopefully someone saw something.

Thieves suck! I had a stereo stolen out of a Tracker I had years ago, and I still remember how pissed I was. Worst part for me was I had a Gen X cd in it that was only released in Europe, I paid $30 for it used (almost 20 yrs ago), and to this day I haven't been able to find a replacement for - yes, I'm still very bitter about it!!! On the plus side, I gained a rather large Craftsman screwdriver that they left behind, and they were nice enough to unzip the back window instead of cutting through the top.

Make sure you keep your eyes open for the next few weeks - a lot of times they'll come back hoping the insurance company put a nice new unit in there for them. I do like the razor blades on the bottom idea...
