I heard they were not being sold any more.
No worries folks, they will be selling them again shortly. They just need to alter them. They will be cutting off the sleeves and turning them into WIFE BEATERS!!

Ray Lewis obstructed justice and was an accessory to a murder investigation. Michael Vick ran a large-scale dog fighting ring. Janikowski has been in bar fights, DUIs, evidence tampering, possession of GHB, and bribery. Pac Man. Plaxico. The list goes on.
If you think Rice is out of the league for good, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you. LOL @ pun, though.

Don't forget about Leonard Little. The guy that killed a person while driving drunk and received an 8 game suspension.

All true but NFL is trying to appeal more to women. (Ie breast cancer month and the pink crap all over) I think NFL will probably have a say to keep the feminists off them
Be nice if they actually banned him. There are hundreds more players out there to fill his spot. Give one of them a shot.

That's what I was telling my wife. There are probably even thousands of others that can fill the spot. With as small as the NFL is, the players should be thrown away like garbage when they act like garbage. The league wouldn't even miss a beat. And hell, if their worried about maintaining some twisted image of criminal athletes, there are tens of thousands of others to fill the spot.

I heard on some talk radio show that some pizzeria is offering a free pizza for anyone who turns in their Rice jersey. The host said it was "like a gun buy-back program". [facepalm]

Well... that didn't take long.
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/10/us/nfl-ray-rice/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
(CNN) -- Fired from his team and suspended indefinitely from the NFL, former Ravens running back Ray Rice's career has been sidelined.
But his punishment -- for an altercation in which he knocked out his then-fiancée -- may not keep him off the gridiron for good.
The history of sports includes many athletes-turned-villains who have found redemption.
And now, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, just two days after suspending Rice, told "CBS This Morning" that Rice might yet get another chance.
Asked if it might be possible for Rice to play in the NFL again, Goodell said, "I don't rule that out, but he would have to make sure that we are fully confident that he is addressing this issue."
"Clearly, he has paid a price for the actions he's already taken," he told CBS.
Whether any NFL coach or owner would provide that opportunity to the disgraced Rice at some point in the future is another question altogether.

I know I'll have to don the flame suit for this,,, but she did go after him first...... again I know I know... But I so severally hate the idea that the feminists push, that they are total equals in ALL ways, and then some broad gets hit cause she was acting like a man, and the same exact feminists want that guys life ruined. I mean for real, what exactly changed since the second video came out? we all knew he hit her. Goodell came up with a new policy literally just for this. 6 games. then he goes indefinite.. the fiance married the guy. we are in no position to judge that. maybe money or whatever. but it was still her choice. Sure, if I was the ravens, cut him.. but then it was like goodell had to do better than that even...

The only reason that would justify striking a woman would be a legit threat to life. A woman smacking, spitting, cussing, nagging, punching eye etc is never an excuse. If leaving is an option do so, if you're confined to an elevator protect your vitals and flee. If she's got a gun, knife, bat etc etc by all means.
If it's a dude doing those things, drop you cell phone and do it.

It wasn't a feminist push when my dad instilled those ideals in my brain 20-30 years ago.
Fact of the matter is he is a POS for hitting a woman period. I could care less the situation. But I guess i was brought up a bit old fasioned in that sense.

Now I totally agree with this myself... we do have to acknowledge that we are both saying the softer sex, isn't just softer, it's weaker.... at least in this case physically. The part that I have the problem with is the movement where it's a 100% equal all situations, I am woman hear me roar, bla bla bla... then everybody loses their fuckin minds at something like this... she went after him. he smacked her back, she came back even stronger, and he dropped her. again... he SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT. but I mean goddamn.. at what point can we please say, "he bitch, here is a really good way to not get knocked out.. quit acting like a fuckin man. thank you".

Just wanna play Devil's Advocate here. I don't know what led up to the ordeal, but I will agree on the equality-when-it-suits-me standard. That whole idea that it's never okay to hit a woman is asinine.

I agree. The only acceptable time to hit a woman is the same as the only acceptable time to hit another man: When one is defending one's self from a credible and immediate threat of bodily injury. Striking a woman in ANGER is NEVER ok. Neither is striking another man in anger, but the "credible threat" part gains some latitude if he is comparably sized. In other words, violence is not an acceptable response to words in a civilized society, particularly when those words come from a person that is significantly smaller/weaker/less skilled than you.

Good post!
Maybe we need women to be labeled now. "Lady" and "Person". I will say that it is NEVER okay to strike a "Lady".. A lady won't intentionally provoke a man, but then a gentleman won't allow themselves to be provoked to physical violence. It is all about self control, and I think some of the slant here is the double standard that "men" must have self control whereas a "woman" can do as she pleases without fear of physical violence, or even demeaning (even if accurate) speech about her or her actions...that is a very wrong and flawed version to which society has crept.
If the NFL wants to be serious, then any criminal conviction results in a 1 year suspension and treatment program, any felony conviction results in a lifetime ban. They won't do it for the same reason that the politicians in Washington won't do what is right for the people of the US...$$$.
I totally understand where chad4k is coming from. But I believe in this instance Rice had time to just walk away. If need be run away. Cool off. I have a horrible temper (think the hulk). Best thing my dad thought me was to walk away.
I honestly think both of them gave some serious issues. I'm sure there is some history of abuse from their upbringing. It is sad.
With people wanting Goodells head I don't see rice coming back.....toxic.
Report: Law enforcement official sent Rice tape to NFL exec in April (http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/ray-rice-video-law-enforcement-officer-says-NFL-sent-tape-in-april-091014)
A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice (http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/player/ray-rice/535267) punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive five months ago, while Commissioner Roger Goodell has insisted the league didn't see the violent images until this week.
The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."
Looks like the heat is on for Goodell.
Fire them both and start over.
Here is my slightly different take on this issue. If Ray Rice had been in possession of an AR with a 30 round magazine in Atlantic City, NJ, he would have faced stiffer criminal penalties than he has for knocking his future wife out cold.

Don't hit people who do not pose an imminent threat to you. As a general rule, men should not hit women.
Be safe.
Nice judicial system New Jersey. Nice to see you have your priorities straight when it comes to protecting people from criminals. [Sarcasm2]

A lady that uses her gender and/or size to strike a an is certainly no gent herself. I understand where you're coming from; they were in some ridiculous argument before they got onto the elevator and she did strike him first. By 'strike', I mean she swatted at him outside of the elevators, and then from the video, at :23 and :24 seconds in, it appears she pokes at him as if to make a point. At that point, he backhands her hard enough to make her upper body snap back. He then steps back, and she moves at him. It was then that he hits her so hard that she drops, knocking her head against the railing of the elevator. Consider her size compared to his. This entire event takes place within 4-5 seconds, which tells me this is not their first rodeo. The fact that she married him a month later tells me there are serious problems within their relationship, and she's either got some sort of battered-wife syndrome or she's in it for the money. Considering her "you have all ruined our lives!" response she has had to this video, I'd say it was more of the money issue than anything else.
Now I'd like to weigh in on the whole feminism issue. Am I a feminist? Yes. I am a feminist in the old-school sense of the word; I fully support and believe in the equality of pay for women, I believe women should not have to endure having their bottoms patted at work, their opinions overlooked or their achievements ignored or credit given to their male counterparts. I believe their advancement in the workplace should not be dependent on how much cleavage they show. I believe that a woman can be a tough-minded employee or employer, without the double standard of "she's a bitch" applied, where a man would be praised for his leadership abilities in the exact same situation. I also believe that double physical standards do not belong in the workplace- if a female wants to be a paratrooper or a firefighter, they must be able to fulfill the same physical requirements. I believe all of these things because I HAVE endured the bullshit that I have listed above. Many men feel the entitlement to discount what women have to say or offer, unless it happens to scratch their particular itch. As a feminist, all I ask for is a fair deal. I don't want special treatment. I don't want my cake and to eat it, like the shrill contingent that demand more than they are entitled to, and then cry foul when they don't see their special privileges. That's not what I consider a feminist. I don't like what they are trying to represent, and I don't like that they are anti-men. Not all women judge men on the actions of one guy that is clearly blinded by his own ego.
Agree. However, I would not "label" TheGrey as a Feminist, but a realist. I believe in the Bible and the Constitution, and while religion and our Country have not followed the tenants therein, I think it is clear that every human should be dealt with equally and fairly. Maybe TheGrey will not agree, but to me, a woman who seeks to be counted as equal, on all levels, with men, loses some of her feminine qualities, which men (most) do not posses. I think that to deny the differences between men and women diminishes both sexes. That does not mean men or women are in some way superior to the other, just different.
The mere fact that there is such an outcry about this one man's actions illustrate the fact that most people understand men and women are different. If this guy had been in a same sex relationship and dropped his boyfriend in the exact same scenario, would their be such an outcry? We all know the "majority" answer to that question would be "no".
MarkCo, thank you. :) I take that as a real compliment. I don't disagree with you at all. I'm mulling over some points I'd like to add but my brain is stuck in molasses, so I have to ponder a bit. I'm a slow thinker today!
I've thought long and hard about this, and written several replies- only to erase them and start again.
The term 'feminine' means "to have qualities associated with women." There are two parts to this: the physical aspect, and the social construct. Physical differences between men and women are usually fairly obvious, and there's no denying that most men are stronger and bigger than women. To deny physical characteristics would be silly.
But the social construct of the idea of 'feminine' is fluid, and oftentimes impractical. The social definition is slippery, and depends upon class, culture, time period, trends and so on. Is it a demonstration of femininity to fire a .357 at a firing range? Would it help if the gun were pink?
In considering the loss of femininity...who does that benefit? Would it benefit the woman maintenance worker to not be able to carry a 40 pound toolbox up a staircase when men are watching, to maintain the illusion of her femininity? What about the girl that doesn't want to wreck her pretty pink manicure, so instead waits for someone to come along the road to help her change her tire?
I believe what I'm trying to say is that femininity is often an illusion or a tool that can be used for or against women. I can't tell you the number of ties when people would say, "You can't do that, because you're a girl," or "You're supposed to like pink guns. You're a girl." So I just smile and do what I want. If people think less of me because they think I am not feminine enough...who is that hurting?
