View Full Version : "Make my day" shooting-Boulder
Monday around 8:45pm a man broke through the glass storm door and front door of a home in Boulder. Home owner was knocked down but was able to shoot the intruder. The unknown assailant tried getting into other homes prior to this one. The two residents of the home are cooperating, no word yet on whether the assailant was under the influence, he is deceased.
Sounds like a righteous shoot to me. If so I hope the homeowners are ok.

Yeah the home owner has a huge elk mounted to his wall you can see from the front of the house.

"The important thing is that any time anyone uses a firearm against another human being in Boulder County, we will look at the situation very closely and deliberately, and that is what we will do here," Garnett said.
So if you don't wanted to be looked at closely by the DA's Office for defending yourself, USE A HAMMER!

This story showed up in my news feed, I read it on the Boulder Daily Camera. Don't read the comments unless you're looking for extra motivation to leave this state.

Blahahahahahahahaha....[ROFL1]
DA said it was similar to another make my day shooting in the PRB, but it wasn't that similar, and this time, he said, it was "tragic"...once again, I'm not sure about that...seems it took it's natural course. See Yoda quote above...

Apparently someone thought so, considering she's starring in 4 of the 5 photos on the article. She's probably getting crap around the office about it.

Just not in the UK. A man who defended his home after being assaulted by three intruders with handguns killed one with a sword. He was sentenced to multiple years in prison.

Different story in Argentina: Four burglars with 2 guns get owned by a guy with a katana. (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/04/14/four-burglars-with-pistols-went-up-against-one-homeowner-with-a-samurai-sword-graphic-photos-show-who-won/)
The pics are nasty. The homeowner di quite a number on the scumbags.
Just saw the coverage on Fox31, the family seems to be saying the same thing we hear every time this happens: "he wouldn't do this," "that doesn't sound like him," "he was a good kid." Regardless of what they think, on the surface, it looks like he did try to break in, and picked the wrong house.

My guess is that he was shitfaced and acting like an idiot - a dangerous idiot. Sad, but you can't blame occupants of the house for blasting him.

Was the hammer a fair trade eco friendly hammer ?

A sad thing, killing some one, even justifiably.

Even when reality slaps the progressives in the face they still can not see the truth. What happens when they swallow the blue pill.
Any reason the investigator would need to measure the width of the doorway? (Doesn't seem too relevant to what happened.)

I really doubt he was only stoned.
Any reason the investigator would need to measure the width of the doorway? (Doesn't seem too relevant to what happened.)
You often don't know what is relevant till some attorney asks a question two years later.
For all the evidence gathered at any crime scene, there is a ton of evidence that isn't collected.
Sometimes the best instructor for what you missed is the realization later at trial that you cost the state a successful prosecution. Never make the same mistake twice. Just be glad when you get a second chance to correct your original mistake on the next case.
Any reason the investigator would need to measure the width of the doorway? (Doesn't seem too relevant to what happened.)
In addition to photos, diagrams to scale are made of scenes. cstone addresses the pertinent issues that can show up.
More importantly, why isn't she using a laser tape measure?! If she only knew how much time she could save.

Saw the blubbering family as well. The kid was on something as several neighbors stated erratic behavior. I believe one neighbor said he was running into his truck repeatedly. The kid charged the glass door after banging on a side window.
Apparently he had no shoes on and was wearing basketball shorts.
My guess is high on something, or inadvertently had something laced and freaked out. No neighbors stated he was seeking help, like the family knows he must have been doing.
Regardless of what happened the kid 'charged' the door according to the neighbor and broke it. Assaulted the home owner, and won the Darwin Award.
If he was high of his own free will he got the prize he was playing for... If it wasn't of his own doing I feel bad for the family but the home owner did nothing wrong.
Why don't we just legalize all drugs... Thin the herd a bit

Of course if the scumbag that breaks your door down and robs and maims you, and we catch him (a big effing if) he will get legal representation, mental health counseling and support from the taxpayer. You as the crime victim get...... [sheepshagger]

I have been monitoring the story via the Daily Camera and seems to me that by far the majority of the comments and "likes" have been supporting the homeowner.
I heard about his neighbor who heard the commotion and was going to get his gun, but couldn't in time so he called 911 and spoke with the homeowner who shot. But my question, when did Boulder become awash in gun owners? Two houses in one area that have guns? Could it be PRB is changing?
Pretty sure Boulder is still awash in PBR.
