My boy thinks the best McDonalds in the world is the one on 10th street in Greeley, because it has a play place with a rock climbing wall. He's been unusually well behaved of late, so I took him there tonight as a reward. I left the play place area to get him an ice cream, and when I came back, three women had their I-phones out and were recording video of a white Suburban leaving the parking lot. I noticed it was parked right next to my truck, so I asked one of the ladies if it had struck a car or something. She said "No, that is my car, and it is being stolen."
As I watched it round the parking lot, I saw a beige SUV with the spotlight things that looked a lot like an unmarked car. So I walked out of the McDonalds, slowly up to the SUV, and asked the woman if she was law enforcement. Then I said, "You know that white Suburban that just passed you on the way out of the parking lot? A lady inside says that it's hers, and somebody just stole it. The lady cop called it in on her radio and took off. I went back into the McDonalds to hang out with my boy and eat ice cream. The women for whom the Suburban belonged was calling to report the theft to the police. A moment later, she says "Oh my god, they just caught him!"
Every now and then, everything just falls into place.
Recording video instead of doing something about it.. Fucking idiot people.

I probably wouldn't confront someone stealing my vehicle. Not worth the risk to myself or the thief.

I had pretty much the same thought. Nobody was in immediate danger, and wouldn't want to change that over a 1990s Suburban, particularly with my son present. One of those rare times when a cop was right there when they were needed. Everybody wins.

I'd call LoJack and let them handle it. If the SHTF, I'll pull the fuses on LoJack and Onstar.

I'd be more worried about hackers.

Nice work Johnny Ego. Often times I see stuff and wish there was a cop there too, and this time it happened!
I love stories like this, well played.

They were trying to steal a 90's Chevy Suburban.
They were doing the owner a favor.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Now I really want an anti-theft device which is basically you hacking your own vehicle. "You want to steal my car? Well buckle up, it's going to be a ride from hell!"

Me and the boy were at Lowes yesterday morning and I was looking at some deck material to redo the steps in the garage. This short black guy is standing near me looking at the same stuff. Pay him no mind. 30 seconds later I hear the cashier at lumber yell "Sir," then again "Sir are you going to pay for that?" I glance over and he is jetting out the door hauling a large bucket of nails or deck brackets???
He was a little to far to go after and I had to two large pieces of decking on my shoulder, I get up to the cashier and as we, do a customer comes in and says he wrote down his license plate and handed it to the manager who was getting info.
I hope they caught up with the SOB POS.
My son got to see his first theft though!
I was at Depot buying fence material and the employees were talking about how earlier in the day one of the employees body slammed a guy trying to run it with a Makita drill.

I love a happy ending.
Speaking of "Happy Ending", Noah must have one every day.
I didnt realize until until today that there is a Asian Massage Parlor around the corner from Ark Tactical..........
Situational Awareness, Bob.
If that Asian massage parlor were a snake, it would have bitten you.

Damn that place is still open? I thought it got shut down years ago. We always used to joke about running over there on lunch break in High School and getting a quickie.
