I was cleaning out my safe yesterday and found a box of Federal 9mm I purchased from SM Guns in Eugene, OR back in 1994. Do you think after 21 years they're safe to use?

yes. Unless there's corrosion around the primer area or the cases look split / damaged. However the chance of primer corrosion on boxer primed ammo is almost 0

However if you're concerned about shooting it, i'd swap you for a new box of hydra-shok.

I has turned sour. Please let me know where I can pick it up and safely dispose of it.

I have often used ammo 3X that age for carry loads.

I bought over 800 reloads from that Era and they all shoot fine (just not in my gun...).

Wat did you pay for it out of curiosity?

Owning a Mosin-Nagant will recalibrate your world, in so many ways.

I've got Lake City and TW dating back to 1951. I think you're fine with stuff 1/3 as old ...

I shot a box of ancient 12guage a while ago. Nitro express. Cardboard hulls. All 25 shot perfect. I was surprised.

I was a little confused for a moment as to why he even questioned it. I was thinking that 1994 was just... Then I realized it was 21 yrs ago.

Dang I'm getting old. 1994 seems like yesterday to me.

Well heck, I graduated from high school in 1954 and that seems like just a few years ago (to me).[blaster]
