I can't save anyone that is dead, nor could I have prevented this, thus I am simply looking at what it means. I'm hopeful that they apprehend the assholes or put them down, but I can only imagine the shit storm that is coming our way

Riverside police dispatchers have broadcast a general advisory that the suspects involved in the shootings in San Bernardino may have fled in a black GMC Yukon, heading northbound on Waterman Avenue, roughly 40 minutes ago.
The broadcast indicated there were unconfirmed reports the suspects were male and of Middle Eastern origin, “armed with AK-47s and wearing body armor.”
The broadcast was part of a region-wide alert issued by the San Bernardino Police Department.
I believe most of the President's comments are given to the traveling media between golf outings and fund raising events. And all of those events are surrounded by men and women fully armed with GUNS!
As always, when I see progressives talking about guns, all I hear is; "Your guns are bad, government guns are good. You can't be trusted, but you can trust us to provide everything that we think you will need."
The simple fact is that people doing bad things are stopped by other people doing good things. The tools used to do good things or bad things are often the most effective tool at hand.

This is all a bunch of BS, didn't happen. It is against the law to possess assault rifles and high capacity clip magazine thingys in CA. It is impossible for any of this to happen in CA. Totally against the law so this has to be a ruse, somebody is playing a big joke on everyone.

None of this situation makes any sense with multiple attackers at that location. Sounds like an organized hit and then they get caught a mile away hours later? I know that facility, been there multiple times. They provide treatment & support for physically and mentally disabled folks of all ages.

Sale/transfer is banned in the whole state, possession is only banned in LA county. Assault rifles as defined by Sacramento actually are legally if you registered them when the law went into effect. If you registered them you could keep them but they are not transferable within CA and new ones can't be added now unless you get signatures from the governor, feinstein, boxer, pelosi, De leon(ghost gun guy), Jesus, Abe Lincoln etc.
Glad they downed 2 of them it sounds like and hot on the trail of the other(s).

- Laying low nearby - super dumb...they had to have know LEO presence would not die down but only increase with time. Like you said, they don't seem dumb..
- Round 2? Maybe. Only thing I could think might be the case. But still odd. If they wanted a round two, you'd think they'd make some distance between them and the thousands of officers that responded to the first scene. Drive 30 mins away, do it again while police are still busy at the first. Round two right next to the entire LE might of the area...also dumb.

They said something very similar to that last name on the scanner early on. I didn't catch the first name.
Name came about because it was an employee that was acting strange and left work early. 3 mins later, shooting started.
All of this is how I heard it on the scanner, not hard verified fact at this point.
IF, this was a couple of camel jockeys, the Syrian refugee debacle comes very much into focus…..I would hope.

Nope, lots of it in CA back in the 80s too. I did a "third lieutenant" program with AFOSI at Travis AFB 30 years ago and got to go through (then) recent case files. Also remember an article from around that time frame where local drug gang decided to get pissy with a SOF guy in LA because he'd been reporting his observations to the cops. As I recall the story, he got wind of the pending attack and invited his buddies over for a barbecue after work and I guess they didn't have time to go back to the armory. Some very surprised, very unhappy druggies ...
Of course, today the Commie-in-Chief would demand they be court-martialed ...

In "CA" maybe (Travis is a good 500 miles and three cultures north of the IE), but Riverside/SBD was nothing but one Mexican gang vs another Mexican gang in the 80's. The PD helicopters wouldn't even fly over certain areas at night (the area around Malcolm Smith Motorcycles was definitely NO-GO at night) as they'd get shot at so frequently. San Berdue has been a cesspool since before anyone on this forum was alive and it's not changing anytime soon. Inland Center Mall didn't close due to not having the right anchor stores, it closed because nobody could stomach San Bernardino. I doubt a Columbian would have lasted 24 hours in the Casa Blanca neighborhood back in the day.

Watching the police briefing covering the details of the individuals involved. Syed R. Farook, 28, was one of the dead and the female was Tashfeen Malik, 27. Farook was American born, they are unsure about Malik's birthplace and relationship to Farook (married, engaged, etc.). Farook was the angry individual that left the party early. Farook had attended the party the previous year as well. The opportunity is there for BO to claim this as "workplace violence".

From the beginning of the attack on Wednesday in San Bernadino (CA) UTT called it jihad. The modus operandi was very similar to Paris in several ways (gear, vehicle, calm demeanor of the assailants, well-planned attack, and Muslim perpetrators).
We knew from early on in the day the perpetrators were Muslim because many hours after two of the suspects were shot dead, no one in the media would tell us the most basic details about them except their gender. Major clue #1.

Fox news analysis included the likely option that “mental illness” was the cause. The LA Times blamed the “incident” on a dispute between the “shooters” and others at the Christmas party at the Inland Regional Center where the shootings took place. Other media outlets simply called it “workplace violence.” All day long viewers were subject to analysts, newscasters, and guests who were free of any clue of what was happening before their very eyes. The blathering incoherence was stunning.
The FBI gave us no deeper insight into the attack eight hours after it began. How long does it take to look at the jihadi and tell he is a jihadi? Since the FBI has zero training for agents about what Sharia adherent Muslim jihadis look like, maybe it was simple ignorance. Maybe the allah u akbar was not enough of a clue.
The jihadis identified by 1:30 AM EST Thursday are Syed Rizwan Farook (killed by police), his brother, whose true name is still not confirmed, and Tashfeen Malik, a female who was killed by police in the vehicle along with Farook.
In advance of the substantive press conference by authorities, Fox News gave Hamas (doing business as the Council on American Islamic Relations or CAIR) the opportunity to set their narrative before facts could get in the way. At their press conference, Hamas (CAIR) made the family of the jihadis out to be the victims, and told us we really cannot know the motive of the attackers. Maybe it really was mental illness.
Fox News – once again – allowed the jihadis to promote their agenda on national television. Between the O’Reilly show providing Hamas years of airtime to execute their propaganda operation, and Fox News in general supporting Hamas terrorists from CAIR, the enemy does not need to do much social media highlight its efforts. That is being done for them by Fox.

Present at the CAIR press conference was California Hamas (CAIR, Los Angeles) leader Hussam Ayloush with one of the most senior Muslim Brotherhood leaders in North America – Muzammil Siddiqi – standing behind him. Next to Siddiqi was Farhan Khan who is married to Farook’s sister Tatiana. While Khan and Farook’s social media pages make it clear the two were close, Khan claimed he was “shocked” Syed would ever do such a thing as kill people. Same old lies every time.
Khan is also a jihadi and had advance knowledge of this event. Bet the bank on that.

Republican Presidential candidates responded by asking for prayers for the victims of this attack.
President Obama and Hillary Clinton responded to the attack in San Bernadino by calling for more gun control.

I ordered some from SG ammo a few weeks back and there was plenty in stock. I looked a few days ago and the ammo I ordered was OOS. I found it on another site and ordered more yesterday and it's about to ship. This may get bumpy for a while so I grabbed more while I still could at a fair price.

I ordered a case of zinc plated steel case "colt" branded from SG last week for $235 delivered. Got it yesterday. SG appears to be about sold out of everything today. Got their email for PMC 9mm for $206 delivered yesterday. They had a bunch. I almost ordered some but it wasn't in my ammo budget, wish I had. Sold out now. Lucky Gunner bumped their prices overnight. Seems the be averaging $0.45-0.50/rnd for 223/5.56 there.

As I went to press with this column, the San Bernardino shooters were unknown, but I had a pretty good inkling they weren’t white men. Days earlier, in response to Robert Dear Jr.'s murder of three people at a Colorado Springs shopping mall last week, The New York Times exulted:
"Even as politicians and those in Congress pump up public fears at the supposed threat of refugees fleeing Syria, every day in America people -- mostly white men -- are walking into movie theaters, restaurants, churches, grade schools and health care centers armed to the teeth, determined to take as many people out as they can."

I know it didn't happen here, but is the Times really going to ignore the murder of 130 people in Paris two weeks ago?
Here at home, an Oregon Community College was shot up in October -- by a mixed-race, half-black immigrant, Chris Harper-Mercer. Nine people were killed. It's hard to remember every sensational crime, but that was just two months ago.
Last year, another mixed-race immigrant, Elliot Rodger, committed mass murder at a sunny college campus in Santa Barbara, killing twice as many people as Robert Dear did -- in half the time! That seemed like a pretty big story to me, but the media passed over it pretty quickly. The Times has airbrushed it from history.
In 2013, two Chechen immigrants -- also allegedly fleeing persecution -- blew up the Boston Marathon.

That's the product of selective reporting/politicization, IMHO. We face an uphill battle on that front.
I've been on Disqus battling all morning. Many of the useful posters hadn't heard of the Bath incident. Others didn't know what an assault rifle is (big surprise). Many thought "assault rifles" (by which they meant semi-auto ARs/AKs) were used in the bulk of gun homicides. Some were advocating for universal background checks without knowing that CA has had that on the books for years.
Oh, and the stats... All of them now lumping in suicides and accidents with homicides. Selectively by capita (rate) when it benefits them but by volume when it doesn't (e.g. "US highest number of mass shootings" but we happen to have a lower rate of mass shooting fatalities than other developed countries).
It's mess.

That's what credit cards are for!!! Now I'm talking need not want. Anyone who's interested in modern guns should have a solid AR + 1,000 rounds for it and a pistol with the same.
There are lots of things I want too but I don't have the income so I have to save or wait. If the laws change, some of that might not happen.

Anyone Interested in their Health, Life, Safety.. SHOULD have 1-2 reliable firearms, if not a 2nd one of your primary. 10 magazines per gun. 1K of ammo per gun, Minimum.

working knowledge of each. Ability to troubleshoot FTF's FTE's etc. Take down of each gun. NO one does not need to have ability to remove and head space barrels. It's nice to have a good set of armor's tools. BUT, not a necessity.
Are your mags in working order? Do your guns work with a variety of ammo ? Is everyone in the household capable of taking one of those guns and using it proficiently ?
DO They know the basic operation of each gun ?

Just watched the press conference, and the San Bernardino PD Lieutenant is just awesome! I would gladly follow him into an active shooter situation! His best line was about how our profession is catching a lot of flack these days, but most, an overwhelming majority, of officers are there to protect the public.
On the gun front, I was looking at getting a Sig 516 Patrol (since my agency just added Sig rifles to the approved list) after Christmas. In the interest of saving money, I think that purchase might be this weekend before prices go out of control. And just ordered 1,000 5.56 to add to what I've already got. Freedom munitions is actually pretty good on the price point.
