No mailbox! This was my father in laws toolbox. Jerry graciously took on the task of restoring it. It's going to my son for his tools and a memory of his grandfather he can (hopefully) pass down to his kids.

Jerry, you did an amazing job! It looks beautiful. I can hardly wait to give it to my son with the Craftsman tools I bought for him for Christmas. I'm also going to include that "before" picture in the toolbox too.

Couldn't agree more. I think it'll help my son remember that this isn't a recent store-bought toolbox, but a memento from his grandfather.

I think I have same tool box in storage in Indiana. It is filled with planer knives and tools. Passed from step dad, along with a restored mid 50's Caraftsman 8" table saw. Both are primary items in my collection.

I went out in the garage and dug until I came across my old "travel box". It's the box I load up when I get that call from my daughter "Dad I need help fixing _____". I think it looks more like Stu's but it's still kinda cool, holds a lot of stuff well. I don't have any idea where or when I got mine either.

I always called those the "plummer's box" I will say that I looked long and hard and did find the old rivets and bucking bars for them. That was the hard part because I wanted so much to tear it all apart and refinish the latches and hardware off the box but I was looking at $100 investment just to do it right. I also found out some of the modern mixes for hammertone paint are crap compared to the older stuff.
