I am not a Political junkie by any means, but this presidential race is HOT and the Left is nervous. It's splattered all over the media, Trump is bad news and, as you would expect from the Dem's, Obama chimes in.

Isn't it unusual for a standing president to endorse a candidate like Obama is doing?

I would think there would be something mentioned in the handbook on the 'Duty of President of the United States'

I'm no expert, but I seem to remember the standing president siding with whoever is in the same party.

Only makes sense for the current president to push hard for a president that will not tear down what he has built.

It is normal for the standing president to push for his successor to be from his own party but tradition was former presidents kept their mouths shut about the policies of current presidents. That tradition went by the wayside when Slick Willie "retired"; although GW Bush has observed it and avoided commenting on Obama's shitty performance, I don't expect Obama to return the respect. Obama is the lowest class POS to ever occupy the White House and I feel bad for the worms when he finally kicks the bucket. Maybe they can stuff him and put him in the same crypt with his buddy Lenin ...

Can't be sure, but I don't ever recall W. saying Obama wasn't fit to be POTUS... Just saying.

The odd thing with Barry is that he is saying that Trump is unfit- not that he disagrees with him, or that that his policies are even bad. Unfit has a separate connotation. Not a conspiracy guy, but Barry's use of 'unfit' is almost a sign that he wouldn't hand over the presidency to him, if he won.

Luckily both Hillary, Barry AND Trump are working hard to make it so that Trump doesn't win.

Usually once the conventions are over and the candidates are "official", the sitting President will begin to act on behalf of the candidate from their party. The amount of support varies based on the President and the candidate. I would say that Obama probably doesn't particularly like Clinton, but he wants his legacy to be 12-16 years of democrats in the White House, so he spends his time bashing Trump vs. promoting Killary.
