View Full Version : Palmetto State Armory Sucks

Ordered some Federal XM193 for 5.99 and box from Palmetto State Armory and received Independence XM193I that was selling for 5.79. The idea of shipping it back sounds like a PITA. Their customer service sucks. The prices are pretty good but when they fuck up you are on your own.

call them and tell them about the mix-up and maybe they'll work with you a bit? *shrugs*

Seems this is how most are handling businesses these days, coming onto public forums to bitch and complain, before giving the company a chance to fix the issue. Humans can't get 100% of things right 100% of the time.....

Seriously?

Call them. They'll make it right. I know the common move is to take the internet story of "their customer service blows" and run with it, but I have called them a couple times and they have been more than willing to help me out.

I can tell you from years of patronage that Palmetto State Armory does NOT suck.... as others have said, call them!

kfr
07-27-2017, 14:07
Already called them. Options are 1. $10 credit and keep this hot ammo that I didn't order. 2. Pack this shit up and take it to the UPS facility and ship it back at my expense and receive a gift card from PSA to reimburse shipping and the price delta. The customer service reps were anything but customer customer service. I'm not asking for free ammo but they could credit me the return shipping or even a portion of it to keep the M193I that I made a conscious decision not to buy. NOPE. Fuck them.

Aren't you sweet knowing all that social snowflake stuff. When I order big heavy boxes or ORD-M I expect to get what I paid for so I don't have to ship it back.

If I were a crying snowflake, I'd ask you to pack it up and ship it back for me. Now blow me hooker and go troll another thread.

Wait, you want to keep the ammo and have them credit you the shipping it would have cost you to send it back to them?
After they offered you a $10 credit to keep the ammo?

Well, they sent him cheaper ammo--he ordered $5.99 per box ammo and got $5.79 ammo. if he ordered a case (doesn't say), that would be a $10 difference.

After finally getting the whole story in post #6, the OP seems to have a valid complaint, that being said, based on his maturity level, and the way he escalates things, I'd be completely happy if he had no ammo at all....

You must have been a Marine. I ran out of coloring books so I'll break this down for you.

I ordered Fed XM193 50 boxes for $5.99= $299.50.
I received Independence XM193I 50 boxes for $5.79= $289.50. The invoice in the box clearly states Fed XM193 50 boxes.

That is where $10 comes from.

So PSA says they will credit the $10 delta to my credit card (which they owe me anyway)

or they will give me a return authorization (I pay return shipping) for a $47 PSA gift card to pay for shipping in both directions. Net gain = zero and I'm stuck with a fucking gift card and out time and trouble to correct their mistake. Does it sound unreasonable to be credited something in return for fixing their fuck up?

Right, so PSA offered to pay back the difference, or pay for return shipping and send him what he ordered. Either way, the OP gets what he paid for, for the price PSA advertised.
However, it appears the OP wants to keep the ammo and get paid back more than the difference? For what, inconvenience?

I've ordered through PSA many times, and have nothing negative to report.

Sounds like PSA is offering him a fair deal IMO.

Easy now sweetheart.

So, you're stating you want to keep the ammo and get a $47 ($37 when you subtract the $10 "delta") credit because PSA shipped you the wrong box?

Yes. They made a mistake. They are refunding your shipping and will send you the correct ammo. You want a prize because someone stacked the wrong ammo in the box?

Take the 10 bucks and go shoot that cheep ammo up. I doubt there is a big difference in how it shoot and it's not like you would take either to war or use for home defense. Just saying.

I'd be annoyed too but probably just take the $10 and shoot the ammo they sent.

I did not spend 21 years, 5 months, and 26 days behind stateside desks in air conditioned offices in the enlisted Air Force for someone to haul-off and call me a Marine.

Federal has a $50 rebate right now for that.

Edit : I missed the gift card was to cover shipping.

Either way, send it back and get the Federal so you claim the $50 rebate.

PS - PSA has always been great to me.

Mining, you just deal with stubborn rocks. The nice part is that the problem is solved with high explosives. The gold is easy to sell.

The very first reply nailed it, but the OP didn't like PSA's acceptable (IMHO) solution to the mistake.

Yeah, it's frustrating when stuff shows up and it's broken or just wrong, but people make mistakes sometimes (me, Tuesday, too many beers....man). As long as they make it right, cool. If they toss you a "prize" as well, then that's even cooler of them but it certainly isn't mandatory.

Too bad Amazon doesn't ship ammo. We've bought probably a hundred items from them - never once a problem except slower than promised shipping times, which they corrected months ago.

Valid point. A gift card for PSA is kinda cheesy I guess. A return label is the way to go. Shit, just email it to him and he can print it and put it on the box. S&W did that with a recall a while back. Went smooth as silk.

I just had an ammo mix up with Sportsmans Guide. Ordered a case of Wolf Gold for about 24 cents per round (with club discount and a new customer discount). When it was delivered a week later, I found they had shipped me regular wolf steel cased stuff. They had me take a few pics and email them, and then they sent me an email with a prepaid return shipping label to have fedex take it back to them. Took about a week from the day I shipped it out until I got the correct stuff, but happy with the service.

+1 return label.
Buyer has rights to receive a correct item as an primary option.
Distant 2nd option is keep the WRONG product and get partial refund which PSA offered.

Customers are not that bad. Without them there is no business because there is no one paying for a service.

I've ordered from them numerous times, and I have nothing but good to say. Here's my experience with their customer service. I called them up; "remember that run of bad FCGs you had s few years ago? Well, I'm installing a couple lower parts kits I ordered back then that unfortunately have this issue...anything we can do about it?" Response: "Couple new ones on the way." ...no questions asked no returns needed. I've ordered lots of gun parts, optics, ammo, etc. from them over the years.
