Ok - I searched and didn't find anything specifically relating to my trouble - so here goes:
I recently received my long awaited Ciener .22 kit for my AR...
and it doesn't work.
It fits in the gun - but when you close it back up (put in the pin) it binds and it will not charge (the bolt only pulls back about 1/2 way and stops)
Looks like it is not machined on the contact point where it meets the hammer?
I'll try to get a picture up...
Anyone else encounterd this problem before?
I wonder if I should just send it back to Midway and if I do - what if I get another just like it?
I have an opportunity to learn something here, I believe... [Swim]

Here is the pic - the red circle is the area that doesn't look machined and seems to bind.
(Yea - made it to 'Paintball Shooter'!)

It only pulls about halfway back, by design. As long as the bolt face clears the back lip of the magazine, and cocks the hammer, it's going back far enough.
Hope it will help

Also most prefer Fed Bulk Pack .22lr
Mine will now shoot the Remington Golden Bullets.
Some have had to break in with CCI Mini Mags.

Mine just pulls back - doesn't release and go into battery... I'll see about pics tonight when I get home...

Mine only ate Federal Bulk when I had it. Hated Minimags. I also had to clip a few coils from the spring to get it to stop double firing.

can you post pics of the other side?

I have two of this kits, and never had a problem with them...

Sounds like either the recoil spring is bad or it needs some lube...

Here is a side shot...
I did put some lube on it - just gun oil - a few drops here and there - does it need to be slathered with the stuff?

Ok - my brother-in-law and I figured out the problem.

The back plate was not at 90 degrees from the frame. That is - it was not perfectly perpendicular to the plane of the frame.
So we had to hammer it to 90 deg. then do a bit of filing on it to get it to function.

Now it functions fine - took it to the range and it shoots great. Glad to have it working for lower cost practice.
Thanks to my brother-in-law!

Your error was buying a Ciener, when CMMG and Spike's are available.
You didn't need it this time, but just *try* dealing with Jon Arthur Ciener.
I will say that it was a new experience, having someone cuss at you when you're trying to place an order. Just imagine product support.
Hey Dr, what kind of sling is that? Also, slick rifle.
