Wife just called and said there is a lot of police presence at I-25 and 6th Ave.

I looked at a few local news sources and the only thing they are reporting is a heavy police presence at 6th and Inca and they are working on finding out what's going on. Guess we'll find out soon.

The first link was just the Channel 7 breaking news feed. Here is the link to the page specific to this incident with pretty much the same info. https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/crime/two-denver-police-officers-injured-after-shots-fired-at-6th-ave-and-inca-st

One officer shot in leg, other in stomach, both expected to be okay.

Hope the officers fully recover.

Was going south on 25 and saw lots of unmarked vehicles, lights and sirens, going north as far south as 470. One hell of a call had to go out and who knows what they're dealing with.

DPD sets fire to suspect house while tear gassing it.

House now totally in flames.

I’ll bet that the suspect was not even in there.

Well... that's one way to solve the problem.

Don't see DFD on the scene in any vids. Maybe not safe for them to move in? Neighboring homes are going to be involved if nothing happens.

Didnt really work out that well for the owners in Greenwood village when a random dude ran in and holed up in their house a few years back, before the cops ripped most of the walls down.

[LOL] That was a fast and absolute answer from the resident insurance expert! Good to know.

Can I buy a rider?

Irving

Generally any police activity is specifically excluded. It's been a while but there is wording about being engaged in criminal activities. These cases where the insured wasn't the one engaged in the criminal activity are still denied coverage due to the actions of the government part.

No they cannot. They will tell you on t.v, radio and print how much they've gotten other people.

That’s rough but good to know. I was joking about needing a rider but you can’t control the behavior of others.

Irving

I figured you were, but because riders provide coverage that was otherwise specifically excluded in the base policy, I thought I'd clear it up just in case.

Not seeing any new info in the media about this today other than estimates on opening the area back up. I'll admit I'm not following EVERY site but it seems odd.

How many times do we know the suspect's ID, weapons used, politics, and how gun control could have prevented this within hours of an event like this. And nothing.

Irving

On a shooting where people other than cops get shot, sure, less with stuff like this though. I saw a clip on the news this morning, but as you said, nothing about the perp at all.

Again, that's the kind of thing you'd expect to be released.

That along with the way this was a major multi-agency call makes me think there's something bigger than the media has reported. Yeah, officers down sucks and isn't a trivial thing but we've had that before in the recently metro and not seen that kind of call out.

And now Houston has five officers shot. It is war on the streets. What is the answer? "Police infantry" training? Military assistance? Better equipment? Is there a solution to this?

Joseph Quintana, 35

If there was social media, there was no point in scrubbing it. I can't count the number of the Joseph Quintanas in Denver.

I guess this doesn't fit the narrative as indicated by the reported and releases of info.

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, he had a history of violence and had been arrested previously for felony menacing with a weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing police, assault, domestic violence, kidnapping, child abuse, burglary, DUI, driving with a restrained license and driving without a license.
