Short version, a draft version of an "inclusion guide" from staff at CSU got "leaked," includes the terms "America/American" as offensive, suggesting instead "U.S. citizen; person from the U.S." Then, Tony Frank tries to say "It was a draft, it was removed from the final version, etc." But of course, to me, the fact that it was there at all to begin with is offensive.
You can see this doc also at: https://collegian.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Inclusive-Language-Guide_10_30_18.pdf
I can't remember where I heard it, maybe a TED Talkradio hour podcast or something, talking about how at one company they decided that the term "Flip Chart" (board used during meetings/presentations) was banned because they thought it could be considered racist to Filipinos.
The Internet needs an image of a Flip Wilson themed flip chart.

This does not bode well for Spic and Span cleaning brand, white boards, black boards, fire retardant, etc.

Pretty sure there is a Mexican restaurant named Spic and Span somewhere in Aurora. I used to see it on Google maps all the time when I worked for AAA roadside and had to confirm where people who were calling in for help were located.
It has since been picked up by conservative media websites.
CONSERVATIVES POUNCE!!!
The only reason they "report" this is to front-run and spin so they can protect Good Comrades.
If we had journalists, they would be ashamed that "conservative media websites" are out scooping them.

"America/American" was not labeled as offensive, they were labeled as possibly confusing. "America/American" to some people might not mean a US citizen, it could mean someone from South America.
I think they're right, and the policy of referring to Americans is awful.
The proper terminology should be American-American.
I'm an American who lives in America
CSU are a bunch of lily-livered weeniebot retard neuters.

Nope, it was offensive. Per the doc I linked, "This erases other cultures and depicts the United States as the dominant American country."

Fail.
Both of my parents are American-American.
American-American-American-American for me.

On the bright side, it means I won't be sending anymore $$ their way. I am pretty sure our currency has one of those offensive terms on it.

One more reason to support Trump. Get rid of this type of bullshit. Either you are American or you aren’t. No more Mexican-American, African-American, Etc. If you eliminate that distinguishing factor, you get rid of most racism and so called racism in the media.

Trump won't get rid of this bullshit, he's just brought it to the top and forced the Left to own their agenda.
In a way that is good because people get to understand the importance of elections. I'm not sure I can trust the results in every state though. But then it's also bad because now there is a sense of urgency and anger.

Agreed. The more we focus on the differences we have as citizens (particularly those of race/color/ethnic), the more divided we will remain. If we'd start focusing on what we have in common we could get past the bulk of racism once and for all (Disclaimer: There will always be those among us who focus solely on the differences in others races/ethnicity so total elimination will never occur).
But, keeping us divided is what gives some (typically the Left) their power.
Bottom line is that you are either an American (U.S.), or you are not. These hyphenated titles only continue to divide us. There is no place for divided allegiances.
I've seen Scotish-American, Northern Irish-American, English-American, British-American.
I've even seen SVENSKA-American, or SUOMI-American, or even Deutsche-American.
Conclusion: I really dont care what you call yourselves.
Just dont be one of those idiot sucker who pay $50 on Ancestor.com and wear a Kimono, and later found out you needed to wear a Kilt.
:)
Democrats profess inclusion, but division is their bread and butter.
