We were talking about the Royal turmoil tonight, of which I know nothing. I don't know what the latest uproar is, but brought it up jokingly. Turns out it is a huge deal among every girl, everywhere.
I tonight learned much more about them than I ever wanted to know. When I brought up that Harry is not Royal since his mother was married into the family and his father is in question, I was lambasted AND chastised.
When I imagined a scenario in which the Queen mother was scraping the yellow buildup from under her toenails with a digger from a nutcracker set while deriding her grandchildren, filter-less Lucky Strike dangling from the corner of her mouth, I thought I was okay, until I realized I had inadvertently referred to her as "the old c...".
It was suddenly very cold in my house and the bedroom door slammed.
I guess I am in the sleepy bag with Popcorn tonight.

I don't care about British royalty. We kicked the sumbitches out and that's all I need to know.

British royalty is a joke IMHO... Mostly inbred, and only good for selling bobble heads at "royal" events

Didn't we shoot a bunch of redcoats so we didn't have to care about this crap?
Now what's Yeezy and Kim doing? THAT's important.

The boys punched well above their weight, though. Guess you look taller standing on a crown and a couple million subsidized pounds.

This is exactly how I feel.
I don't understand the obsession with the British "Royalty". It's made up BS.

So is our monetary system.

So is our monetary system.
Yeah, but I can buy stuff with our fiat money ... can't buy anything with the Royals.
But hey, I'm all for trading the monarchy for Bitcoin if that would make you feel better :)

America was founded on the notion of flouting the British royals and their agents, not worshiping them.

Ye's super Christian now and evidently Kim's following suite.

I hate goddamn American Tories still pining for a monarchy.
Current Royalty is not in any way descended from the old British kings to my understanding - e.g. like the one found under the parking lot isn't a genetic match. Probably been so many affairs that all the "royals" are actually of a queen-ho and a pool-boy, gardener, or janitor.... and several times over again.
Just giving you material if you want more quality time with the dog and enjoy a little space in bed every now and then.

It was explained to me that many women's interest with royalty is not necessarily a form or anglophilia nor a disdain for our republic.
It stems from their childhood desire to be a Princess.
I blame Disney.

I don't give a rat's patootie about Harry and Meghan either but where do you come up with this s--t? Harry is most definitely descended from old British kings going back to Alfred "the Great". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_tree_of_English_and_British_monarchs
There is a distinction between the Houses of Tudor and Stuart and Hanover but realize that even those houses trace their lineage back to Wessex. In cases like the transition from Queen Anne to King George I, they had to go back generations and over to cousins but there was still descendancy. Richard III ("the one found under the parking lot") was still a descendant of Alfred. What their family tree brings up is that they are so in-bred, there's no surprise that some of them are a bit askew from normal -- and also that they've had some pretty vicious in-fighting for between cousins and even siblings (Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots).

Like I said, to my understanding. I don't profess to care or even know all that much about it or the detailed implication or if they are or ain't, just had a recollection that still seems it might be true. Just remember, like any family, whomever they claim to be descended from (paternal) doesn't mean they actually are, as affairs in Royalty were probably more common than the normal folk - time, and access, being prime factors and all.
Bigger point being, it obviously is a super heated topic that will piss people off and get the OP more time with the dog. [Coffee]
Ooooo there's also the controversy of Harry himself. Not that he or any on-line Royal would ever do a DNA test, but remember that Dianna had her own affairs too. And Harry doesn't look like "Dad" at all. He does, AFAIK, look like one of the affair partners. I don't track that stuff, my wife does. So now, ya'll are really prepped for round two.
So,, queen Victoria did what?
ETA: One of the requirement to graduate was to take foreign history class, and only available was british history. It was boring.

I dated a girl once who told me she wanted me to treat her like a princess.
So I married her off to a French nobleman to cement my alliance with France.
