From the AP
Prosecutors in New Mexico plan to drop an involuntary manslaughter charge against Alec Baldwin in the fatal 2021 shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the Western film Rust, Baldwin's attorneys said Thursday.
"We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident," Baldwin's attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro said in a statement.
When word of the dismissal came, Baldwin was at Yellowstone Film Ranch on the set of a rebooted Rust production.
Filming was to resume Thursday at its new location in Montana, 18 months after the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins shut it down, a representative for Rust Movie Productions said.

I wonder if anyone will ever go see this movie. I won’t, not even on cable …
Screw AB with a rusty sword.

Trial started today.
Prick will walk scot-free, just watch. Wouldn't matter if there were videos of all his careless actions before the shooting, he'll still go skipping away free.

You win!
Case dismissed.
A judge in New Mexico dismissed the case against Alec Baldwin on Friday after finding that the state had withheld evidence that could have shed light on how live rounds got onto a film set where the cinematographer was fatally shot.
The dismissal was with prejudice, meaning that the manslaughter prosecution of Mr. Baldwin is over. Mr. Baldwin had faced up to 18 months in prison if he had been convicted.
“There is no way for the court to right this wrong,” Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer said in court as Mr. Baldwin wept.

The case was complete nonsense
Well, that judge probably had several million dollars cash delivered to his home in a briefcase, but that certainly does seem like prosecutorial misconduct, and an actor with very well known anti gun views cannot be reasonably expected to ascertain that a gun he is handed by the armorer on a set is not, indeed, "cold." After all, the prop ammunition looks almost the same as live rounds.
I believe he lied about not touching the trigger, as the gun was tested extensively, then later detail stripped to look for potential flaws, and it seemed to function correctly, but that seems irrelevant. This is 90% on the armorer. Baldwin's culpability is mostly in cutting too many production costs resulting in an unsafe set.

As much as I can’t stand AB if the facts of the case are true- the state withheld evidence then the dismissal is just.
I do feel he is negligent from the aspect of- he was holding the firearm and he pulled the trigger.
Curious if this will have any impact on the armorers appeal/case?
I agree.
I really dislike AB and his anti-gun stances.
But I hate the government violating peoples rights even more. The prosecutor withheld evidence. It should be tossed. Unfortunately many other are convinced and the prosecution just given a slap on the hand when they "forget" something...
Withholding evidence should always result in dismissal. The justice system is already stacked in the Governments favor so they should be expected to 100% follow the rules of the game (because it is a game to Government... it is a person life for the defendant).

Haven't they proved that the prosecution withheld evidence against Derek Chauvin and the other George Floyd officers? Yet, he (and the others) still sit in jail.
I suspect that the withholding of evidence in the Baldwin case, and the fact that it came to light, was all by plan so they could say they'd charged him & took it to prosecution, but, "whoops, we screwed up". and away he walks.
He has still killed more humans than 99+% of gun owners...

Who is "they"?
What is their motivation?
Why risk forming a cabal, dreaming up this elaborate plan and risking the repercussions if found out? All for a movie actor?
Doesn't make sense.
Money. That's why.
Also throw in a smattering of Cult of Celebrity. Dont forget, New Mexico is a blue state.
