As I mentioned in my other thread, I'm supposed to have open heart surgery (triple bypass & mitral valve fix/replace) soon at UCHealth hospital's Vascular & Heart, Anschutz campus.

We'll be coming into Denver a couple days early, and then we'll be staying a few nights after I get discharged so I can recover a bit before driving back here to our home in Montrose. My wife will be there each night, by herself, while I'm in the hospital.

We're looking at these 2 hotels near there, so I'm asking if anyone here has first-hand experience, or friends/family comments, about either of these places:
1. Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center13200 East 14th Place Aurora, Colorado, 80011

2. SpringHill Suites Denver at Anschutz Medical Campus
13400 East Colfax Avenue Aurora, Colorado 80011

Any others that we should look into?

Cost is about the same between the two, so no real difference to us $$$-wise.

Anyone know anything about either place? Thanks so much!

I'm not familiar with either of those accommodations but I know the area of the hospital and these nearby hotels. That area is fairly high in crime and the surrounding area is as bad or worse, depending on the direction of travel. I would not personally stay anywhere in the cities of Denver or Aurora but others obviously do. Contact me in a PM if you want additional input.

Good luck on your surgery and I hope you find something that fits your needs.

Either is fine. Hyatt's usually have slightly nicer rooms. Springhill might be better for a longer stay (kitchenette/etc). Don't let people worry you about crime, you have enough to worry about. I am on campus a lot, you'll be fine.

Hit me up if you need anything delivered (burgers w/ doctor's approval).

I was wondering the same thing - looks like he hasn't be on since 3/15.
