This seems silly. Wouldn't it effectively turn a 4" barrel into a 3"?
Plus make a mess inside the slide?
Would the slide cycle correctly?
The whole thing is very confusing to me.
I like it when my gun breathes fire

I tried something similar on a G19.
It did reduced muzzle rise, now maybe this was due to the reduced velocity (# in my notes somewhere), maybe it was the gas, it did seem to be quite loud and more exhaust to the face.

That's basically what I have. (A 19/19x convertible lower). It does keep it very flat. I might be able to get a chrono out and test this weekend ported vs unported. If that's something that ya'll want to see. Have to locate my "normal" barrel
Ported barrel is VERY loud
Guess you could always cook hot dogs that way.....

I had thought about trying something to tame the crazy muzzle rise and recoil associated with the nine millimeter round but then I just remembered it really doesn?t exist so I just put my purse down and held on a little tighter.
As a plus, it makes it really exciting to shoot from retention ready!

LOL. Nice

The 9mm is a pretty high pressure caliber. Those holes for sure make the pistol recoil really flat so it can be faster for additional shots.
It actually isnt that dirty inside the gun because the holes in the slide or bigger than the ones in the barrel.
And the CDI factor is pretty high.

TULA 115gr 9mm
G19 ported 1075
G19 threaded 1175
G17 OEM 1175
G17 threaded 1200
8.5" Faxon 1325
ports seemed aggressive enough:

Good info.
Now I don't have to burn $20 to test myself... haha.
Mine is ported because I just bought something that looked cool. Oopsie. Still obtains the desired result
If barrel ports on a 9mm pistol make any difference in the "Flatness" of how the gun shoots, then you simply are not gripping the gun properly or hard enough in the first place.
That being said, when I go to the public ranges I see many pistol shooters with horrible grip mechanics and their gun is flopping around within their hand like a bucking bronco. So I guess there is a need for 9mm barrel ports to "Tame" the muzzle flip for the shooters who can't grip a gun properly in the first place. Barrel Ports Promoting grip mediocrity for the WIN!!!

I swapped the ported barrel into a G19 that was zerod non ported and it shot so low I ran out of adjustment with an RMR. One of the reasons I abandoned the idea.
Damnit, I had s chrono on deck today. Could've proven this
Mime doest drop significantly
Poor aiming or jerking is a different issue
