I work in the government support arena, and I am not sure how the DoD can change the terms of Olin's Lake City O&M contract mid-cycle. Olin's costs were based on being able to sell the excess production on the civilian market, just like Vista did previously. Changing that would require an entirely new proposal.

Yeah, the article left me with more questions than answers. But it didn't say when those contracts were up and was missing other specifics. I don't know if that's something a president can mandate with EO or not. So, I'm skeptical that it's true, but it also wouldn't surprise me.

I thought the US went to m855A1 until everything goes to 6.8x51 in '24.

Is m855 currently being made?

Until they go after primers.

It would be very easy for an executive order to reclassify them as some sort of controlled product. Possibly NFA or more likely EPA designating them as an explosive.

That would necessitate a licensing structure for purchase, possession and storage, including inspections by whomever has authority.

This would open the door for insurance companies to deny coverage for anyone keeping these products in their homes. Credit card companies would decline purchases unless it is on a commercial account.

Someone that has a legal business will be shut down by municipalities, like the Greenwood Village vote against Tomcat Tactical.

To paraphrase Bailey's title of this thread, get stocked up now. Make sure to use cash as often as possible. And keep your mouth shut about what you have.
